RESIGNATIONS Attachment #1 SUPERINTENDENT S REPORT AND RECOMMENDATIONS August 25, 2014 The District has received a letter of resignation from the following individuals. The Superintendent recommends approval: Tony Iapalucci, school psychologist, effective August 5, Ruth Hauger, instructional aide assigned to the High School, effective August 6, Nancy Joe, cafeteria worker assigned to Turbotville, effective August 6, 2014 Sierra Miller, long term Autistic Support/Emotional Support k 2 assigned to Turbotville, effective July 30, EMPLOYMENT Attachment #2 Instructional Department Heads The Director of Curriculum and Instruction is requesting Board approval that the following Department Heads be assigned for the 2014/2015 school year. Each Department Head will be paid a $ stipend. The Superintendent recommends approval: Department Head Rosemary Rohrbach Patricia Kramer Amanda Velte Curriculum Area Language Arts 5 8 Science K 8 Special Services K - 4 Tenure The Superintendent is recommending that the Board approve the following teachers for tenure. 3 Classified Maintenance- Mechanic The Buildings and Grounds Supervisor is requesting Board approval of Barry English for employment as Maintenance- mechanic, with the hourly rate of $11.50, effective Tuesday, August 26, 2014 with start date of September 2, The Superintendent recommends approval. Technology Aide High School The Technology Coordinator is requesting Board approval to employ Ron Kouf as a technology aide, assigned to the High School, effective August 13, 2014, working 35 hours per week at an hourly rate of $9.35, for 197 days with benefits as prescribed in the Classified Handbook. The Superintendent recommends Board approval. Transfer The Business Manager is requesting Board approval of the transfer of Dana Shrawder from the position of Secretary III, assigned to the high school athletic office to Business Office Accountant/Board Treasurer, effective Monday, August 18, Mrs.Shrawder s salary will be set at $33, per year. The Superintendent recommends Board approval. Food Service Cook The Food Service Supervisor is requesting Board approval for the employment of Amy Beaver as a cook assigned to the Turbotville Elementary school. Ms. Beaver hourly rate will be $8.00 for hours per day 181 days per year. Effective start date August 14, The Superintendent recommends approval. Food Service Cafeteria Helper The Food Service Supervisor is requesting Board approval for the employment of Kelly Glozzer as a Cafeteria Helper assigned to the high school. Ms. Glozzer s hourly rate will be $8.35 for 2-5 hours per day 181 days per year. Effective start date August 14, The Superintendent recommends approval. Food Service Cafeteria Helper The Food Service Supervisor is requesting Board approval for Doris Carter as a Cafeteria Helper assigned to the high school. Ms. Carter s hourly rate will be $8.00 for 2 5 hours per day, 181 days per year. The Superintendent recommends approval. Athletics Coaches The High School Principal and the Athletic Director are requesting the following individuals serve as coaches for the 2014/2015 winter sport season. SUBSTITUTES The Superintendent is recommending Board approval of the instructional and classified substitute list as presented. Instructional - The day to day rate for the instructional substitute is $80.00 per day. As this request complies with the Collective Bargaining Agreement and Pennsylvania School Code the Superintendent recommends Board approval. 6. SUBWAY CONTRACT PROPOSAL Attachment #4 It is the recommendation of the Food Service Supervisor that the Board accept the contract with Subway to sell 6 inch subs as part of a school lunch reimbursable meal, in the Middle and High Schools. The Superintendent recommends Board approval. 7. TAX EXEMPTIONS Attachment #5 The Business Manager requests Board approval of tax exemptions for personal taxes as submitted. The Superintendent recommends approval. 8. DELINQUENT TAX EXEMPTIONS Attachment #6 The Business Manager is requesting Board approval of delinquent tax exemptions for personal taxes as submitted. The Superintendent recommends approval. 9. PROPOSAL FOR PROFESSIONAL ENGINEERING SERVICES - Attachment # 7 It is the Building and Grounds Committee s recommendation that the Board of School Directors approve the proposal for a structural forensic study of the high school building totaling $18,600 through Carney Engineering Group. The Superintendent recommends approval. 10. NEW POLICY FIRST READING Attachment #8 The Superintendent and the Educational Policy Committee are recommending Board approval of the first reading of the new policy: Policy No. 146 Program - Student Services. FACILITIES USAGE REQUEST Attachment #11 The District has received the following requests for use of facilities. The Superintendent recommends approval with fees being waived: Patricia Cross, on behalf of the District IV PIAA, are requesting use of the high school library on Aug. 27, October 15, December 10, 2014, January 7, February 11 and March 4, 2015 from 3:30 PM to 5:30 PM to hold District IV meetings. Kiersha Whitehead is requesting use of high school cafeteria starting on Sept. 2, 2014 on Tuesdays and Thursdays from 3:30-4:30 throughout the year, to hold staff aerobics. Cassie Gummo & Melissa Rohm on behalf of the Warrior Run Football boosters, are requesting the HS café for lunch after football scrimmage for both teams on August 16, Elizabeth Snow on behalf of Warrior Run Drama Club, are requesting use of the high school Auditorium to hold auditions for Fall Play on Sept. 2 4, Melissa Rohm & Cassie Gummo, on behalf of the Warrior Run Football boosters are requesting the use of the High School Café for Pregame Meal for Football team on Sept. 5 &19. October 3, 17, & 31, 2014 from 2:30pm 4pm. Melissa Rohm & Cassie Gummo, on behalf of Warrior Run Football boosters are requesting the use of the Middle School gym for on April 18, 2015 for Donkey Basketball fundraiser from 5pm 9:30pm. 14.
