Broadening the student profile from 21 states and 8 countries to 31 states and 31 countries; racial and cultural diversity from 22% to 34%; and international students from 2% to 7%. Student experience Imagineering the Bethany College of the 21 st century as an integrated student experience for the first twoyears of college grounded in a new interdisciplinary core curriculum (Pathway) and a new cocurricular initiative (Quest). Investing over $27 million in new or enhanced academic, residential, and athletic facilities including a new chapel & welcome center, new laboratories for the sciences, new health & physical fitness center, new landscaping, two new residence halls, renovated cafeteria, renovated performing arts auditorium, and renovated outdoor sports complex and stadium. Developing and funding a technology plan leading to residence hall upgrades from a digital subscriber line (DSL) to dedicated fiber supporting wired and wireless connectivity, added and enhanced wireless hot spots around campus, and increased the number of smart classrooms from one to 12. Establishing international partnerships with Harlaxton College (Grantham, England), Karlstad University (Karlstad, Sweden), and Linnaeus University (Växjö, Sweden). Launching strategic partnerships with MindFire Academy and The Art Connection Academy resulting in new academic initiatives in digital & media arts and applied arts, respectively. Expanding the role of students and faculty in shared governance with the Board of Directors and the college s administrative councils. Receiving reaffirmation of accreditation with the Higher Learning Commission, the National Council for Accreditation of Teacher Education, and the National Schools of Music; and initial and reaffirmation of accreditation with the Commission on Accreditation for Athletic Training Education. Advancement Completing a year earlier than planned the largest fundraising campaign in the college's history, finishing 10% over the goal at $22 million and secured the college s first 3 million-dollar+ gifts.
