Enrollment Increasing Program is expanding. Daryl Canham CSU San Jose: MSN & Cred. Offered Program is in state of flux at this time. Courses offered in hybrid format. Budget constraints prevent re-emergence at this time. CCTC site visit Cay Casey postponed for one year. CSU San Diego: MSN & Cred. Offered Highest Enrollment Ever Hybrid Format Offered Budget Issues Present Open University Courses Grad. Adm. 1x yearly Collaboration with other Nurs. Ed. students and Clear Credential Ed. majors.

3 3 CSU Fresno: Beverly Miller & Post-baccalaureate Nancy Busch credential only program. STAH for local students 28 units in length Collaborates with Communicative Disorders & Deaf Students for Audiometry, Education & Human Development for Counseling & Special Education courses. Online mode of delivery Current tentative plans include moving the program from the School of Nursing to the Dept. of Continuing & Global Education-Special Sessions in school year. Role of RN program director is being explored Martha Harmon Dian Baker at this time. CSU Northridge: Post-baccalaureate & MSN tracks offered. Program remains in State of flux at the current time. New program advisor will be appointed in the near future. CSU Sacramento: The program is currently in a state of flux. No official director/advisor has been appointed due to fiscal budget constraints. They remain hopeful for the program s continuation.

CSNO Education Chair Report: Patricia Gomes NASN/CDE Report: Linda Davis-Alldritt Patricia Gomes, CSNO Education Chair reported that there is a need to encourage applicants for the CSNO Scholarships. The new CSNO position statements were just released in November, NASN: NASN offers Research Grants that include $2500-$5000 awards. Upcoming convention will be in Chicago, IL. on June 29-July 3, Linda will be installed as NASN President. CDE: Fiscal constraints involved with the severe California State budget continue to affect the progress of the CDE action items. The California Healthy Framework (2003) is still in effect with revisions and changes on hold. Bonnie Magaretti was appointed by the CDE to review School-based H1N1 clinics. A new directive regarding identification of 7 th grade students with Type II Diabetes will commence 07/01/10. A review of the lower court decision re. the CDE & Insulin Adm. is still pending in the Court of Appeals. Each program director is encouraged to direct students to the CSNO website for further information regarding these scholarships. President-elect Alldritt welcomes a large attendance from the California delegation.

5 5 CSNO Update CSNO membership is Nancy Spradling down at this time. Revisions to contract re. CSNO Annual Conference should help defer future expenses. AB 1802 R-Paul may be introduced in the House. Supervision of Delegated Duties is outlined in this proposed House bill. CSNO legal stance regarding Administration of Insulin at Schools remains unchanged and is supported by the BRN and ANA. A decision from the Court of Appeals is anticipated in Spring, Guests in Attendance: Janice Selekman Old Business: Martha Harmon Dr. Selekman encouraged the continued implementation of evidence-based practice. The utilization of outcomes studies, collaborative educational strategies, and increased funding grants were some of her suggestions. Credential programs need to validate their credibility and validity by demonstrating the results of meaningful outcomesbased research. Inasmch as the minutes were unavailable from last March 4, 2009, no items were discussed. Martha will contact A. Knickelbein at CSU Sacramento.

6 6 Open Agenda: Martha Harmon The members present put forth the idea that a committee be appointed to explore the possibilities of establishing a Statewide educational collaborative regarding the School Nurse Credential. Recognition of the Master s track and Post-baccalaureate track programs was mentioned. The selection of members was deferred to the new Chairperson. Mary Ann Kelly volunteered to be Chairperson for the term. Cay Casey volunteered to be Secretary for the same term of office. Selectees were approved by the members present. Mary Ann appointed Dian Baker, Daryl Canham, and Bev Miller to the Educational Collaborative Feasibility Committee. A mid-year Electronic Meeting will be held shortly after Labor Day. Mary Ann will contact and discuss progress. Cay will provide an updated contact list and program descriptions. Martha Harmon was thanked for her time and dedication for the past two years as Chairperson. Meeting adjourned at 5:00 pm.
