1 ATHENS STATE UNIVERSITY FOUNDATION SCHOLARSHIPS PRESIDENTIAL SCHOLARSHIPS Alabama Kindergarten Conference Presidential Scholarship Criteria: (1) Must be enrolled and taking a minimum of 9 hours (2) First priority will be a student who is studying within the College of Education and majoring in Early Childhood Education (3) Must be in good academic standing and have a minimum 3.0 grade point average The Glasgow Presidential Scholarship Ena Johnson Kennedy Memorial Presidential Scholarship Criteria: (1) Must be an education major or pursuing a career in education The Martin Presidential Scholarships (2) Demonstrate financial need

2 ATHENS STATE UNIVERSITY FOUNDATION SCHOLARSHIPS DISTINGUISHED SCHOLARSHIPS Alabama Farmers Cooperative Distinguished Scholarship Criteria: (1) Must be an enrolled for a minimum of nine hours (2) First priority will be a student who is employed with the Alabama Farmers Cooperative in Decatur, Alabama. (3) Second priority will be a spouse or child of an Alabama Farmers Cooperative employee. (4) If there are no applicants meeting the first or second priority, the scholarship may be awarded to a student from Morgan or Limestone counties. (5) Good academic standing Jerry and Jill Bartlett Distinguished Scholarship Criteria: (1) Must be enrolled a minimum of 6 hours each semester (3) Evidence of good citizenship Kenneth Black Marine Corps Distinguished Scholarship Criteria: (1) First priority will be given to a student who is serving or has served as a Marine in the U.S. armed services. Priority will also be given to immediate family members including siblings and children of a Marine or Marine veteran. Should no student meet these priorities, the scholarship may be awarded to other applicants who are in good academic standing. Rep. Tommy Carter Distinguished Scholarship (2) First priority to a Limestone County student (3) Second priority to a North Alabama student

3 Jonny & Victoria Clendenon Distinguished Scholarship (2) Must be enrolled in a major with the College of Arts & Sciences The LaTresa Essary Scholarship Fund Criteria: (1) Must be an incoming or current student taking a minimum of nine hours; (2) First priority will be a student who can document they are a caregiver for a family member (specifically a son, daughter or grandchild) who is physically paralyzed or who is wheelchair-bound with a documented physical handicap. (3) Second priority will be a student who is physically paralyzed or who is wheelchair-bound with a documented physical handicap. (2) Student must be in good academic standing. The Madison County Public Servant Endowed Scholarship Criteria: (1) The scholarship is designated for a full-time working Madison County public employee or employee of the City of Huntsville or Madison City or a child of an employee of these three public employee entities. (3) If no student is available, the second priority will be to a student from Limestone County, Alabama or Giles County, Tennessee. (4) Must be pursuing a Bachelors of Science Degree in the College of Business (5) Must have a need for financial assistance. The scholarship is to be applied to tuition charges. (2) Must be enrolled in the College of Education. (3) Must be a full-time incoming or current student in good academic standing. (4) Must have a minimum grade point average of 3.0 on a 4.0 grading scale. (5) Must have a demonstrated need for financial assistance.
