Eley Fister Schaul Endowed Scholarship in Library Media Specialist This scholarship is open to any student majoring in Instructional Media/Library Information Option and who meets the following criteria: Must have a 3.5 GPA; must be a U.S. Citizen; resident of Oklahoma preferred; and Demonstrate financial need. 2. Amy Wagner Memorial Scholarship for Reading Specialists This scholarship is open to any student pursuing their Masters of Education degree, preparing to become a Reading Specialist and who meets the following criteria: Demonstrates financial need; endorsed by (3) professors or community references; and demonstrates high scholarship (Overall GPA, Content GPA, and Current Coursework GPA will be used to determine). 3. Tom & Mary Kate Aldridge Special Education Scholarship This scholarship is open to any student majoring in Special Education and who meets the following criteria: Enrolled fulltime (12) hours undergraduate, (9) hours graduate; maintain a 3.0 GPA; and outstanding service as a past or current student of the UCO Student Council for Exceptional Children. 4. Karen McGrath Scholarship for Special Education This scholarship is open to any student pursuing their degree in Special Education and who meets the following criteria: Must be a Special Education major; 2.75 GPA or higher; must be an officer of the Student Council for Exceptional Children, who demonstrates exemplary service to the organization; and must have completed at least (30) hours or more. 5. Jacob Crabbe Memorial Endowed Scholarship This scholarship is open to any student pursuing their degree in Special Education and who meets the following criteria: Must be a Special Education major; 3.0 GPA or higher; full time undergraduate student (12 hours); must be a junior or senior in the semester the scholarship is awarded; and demonstrate Financial need. 6. Educational Leadership Scholarship This scholarship is open to any student pursuing a graduate degree in Education Leadership and who meets the following criteria: 3.25 GPA; former/present/currently certified as an Oklahoma teacher/counselor; and nationally Board Certified preferred, not required. 7. Oliver Hodge Memorial Endowed Scholarship

2 This scholarship is open to any student pursuing a graduate degree in Educational Leadership and who meets the following criteria: Minimum 2.75 GPA; and demonstrates through a personal statement a desire to continue working in the Oklahoma Public School System. 8. Gladys Dronberger Counseling Endowed Scholarship This scholarship is open to any student who is pursuing their graduate degree in Guidance & Counseling and who meets the following criteria: Must have a 3.0 GPA or better; and must have completed at least (9) semester hours in a graduate counseling program at UCO. Department of Adult Education and Safety Sciences 1. Jessie M. Nelson Scholarship This scholarship is open to an undergraduate or graduate student pursuing coursework in Career Tech Education and/or Adult Education and who meets the following criteria: Demonstrates academic achievement; demonstrates need; and preference given to students who are employed as an educator, and striving to balance school, work and home. 2. Organizational Leadership Major Scholarship This scholarship is open to an undergraduate student pursuing a degree in Organizational Leadership and who meets the following criteria: Minimum 3.3 GPA (UCO Overall GPA); demonstrates need; and submit two Faculty recommendation letters. 3. Dr. Gayle A. Kearns Endowed Scholarship This scholarship is open to a graduate student majoring in Adult Education in the Department of Occupational & Technology Education and who meets the following criteria: 3.0 GPA, or higher ; enrolled in 3 credit hours or more; and State of Oklahoma resident. 4. Dr. Jimmie Thrash Memorial Scholarship This scholarship is open to an undergraduate or graduate student pursuing coursework leading to a career in Oklahoma s Career Tech System and who meets the following criteria: Demonstrates academic achievement; and demonstrates need. 5. Harvey Mankins Industrial Safety Student of Courage Scholarship This scholarship is open to any student majoring in Industrial Safety, through the Occupational & Technology Education department and who meets the following criteria: 2.75 GPA; enrolled in a minimum of (6) or more hours; good academic standing in the BS Industrial Safety degree program or the Med General Education (Specialization Area Industrial Safety); provides a letter of

3 recommendation from one off campus source; and provides a personal statement that explains why they exemplify those characteristics displayed by Harvey during his time in school including: dedication, perseverance, commitment, and that have endured some kind of hardship working toward their degree, be it financial or physical. 6. Carl Breazeale Endowed Scholarship in Industrial Safety This scholarship is open to an undergraduate student (sophomore or junior status) who meets the following criteria: Major in Industrial Safety; taking at least (6) credit hours; sophomore or junior status; minimum 3.0 GPA; active participation in campus activities/organizations or volunteer in the community; and demonstrate financial need. 7. Steve Allen Endowed Scholarship This scholarship is open to any student pursuing a B.S. in Industrial Safety or M.Ed. dult and Higher Education, Interdisciplinary Studies: Subject Area in Industrial Safety, and who meets the following criteria: Full time undergraduate student (12 hours) or graduate student (9 hours); and minimum 3.0 GPA. Department of Curriculum and Instruction 1. Alice Adele Way Elementary Education Scholarship This scholarship is open to any student who has declared Elementary Education as their major and meets the following criteria: Junior, or senior who is not eligible to graduate at time selected; 3.0 GPA, or better; and demonstrates financial need. 2. Dr. Mari Scott Memorial Endowed Scholarship This scholarship is open to any student who has declared Early Childhood Education as their major and meets the following criteria: 3.0 GPA, or better. 3. Tracy Memorial Trust Scholarship This scholarship is open to any student who has declared Elementary Education as their major and meets the following criteria: Must have completed 12 semester hours at UCO; GPA must not be lower than 2.0, nor higher than 3.20; and must be enrolled in UCO College of Education & Professional Studies, preparing to become a teacher. 4. The Allen Family Endowed Scholarship This scholarship is open to an undergraduate student who meets the following criteria: Pursuing Undergraduate degree in Elementary Education or Early Childhood Education; must be sophomore

4 classification or above at the time scholarship is awarded; 3.0 GPA or higher; two letters of faculty or community member references; U.S. Citizen, Oklahoma resident; and demonstrate financial need. 5. Maxine Prather Endowed Scholarship for Elementary Education This scholarship is open to any student who has declared Elementary Education as their major and meets the following criteria: Must have completed 9 semester hours of elementary education coursework; overall GPA of 3.0; (2) letters of recommendation; and personal statement outlining why he/she desires to become a teacher. Department of Educational Sciences, Foundations & Research 1. Margaret Branscum Scholarship for Teachers (formerly Alpha Chi Chapter of DKG) This scholarship is open to any female student preparing for a teaching career and who meets the following criteria: Must be an education major with an intent to teach; 2.75 GPA or higher; student must be admitted to and doing their student teaching when scholarship is awarded; must submit a brief Essay entitled My most influential or inspiring K 12 teacher and the qualities that teacher displayed ; and first consideration to be given to applicants who graduated high school from either Moore High School, Southmoore High School or Westmoore High School. 2. Guthrie Scottish Rite Charitable & Educational Foundation Scholarship This scholarship is open to any student majoring in education & preparing to become a teacher and who meets the following criteria: Enrolled fulltime (12) hours undergraduate, (9) hours graduate; junior, senior or graduate status; 3.0 GPA; U.S. Citizen and Oklahoma resident; and demonstrates need. 3. Dr. Charles H. & Larissa McBurney Endowed Scholarship This scholarship is open to any student preparing for a teaching career and who meets the following criteria: Student doing their student teaching when scholarship is awarded; demonstrates high scholarship (Overall GPA, Content GPA, and PTE GPA will be used to determine); demonstrates high moral character (participation in campus & community activities); and demonstrates need. 4. Teacher Education Scholarship This scholarship is open to any student preparing for a teaching career and who meets the following criteria: Student doing their student teaching when scholarship is awarded; demonstrates high scholarship (Overall GPA, Content GPA, and PTE GPA will be used to determine); demonstrates high moral character (participation in campus & community activities); and demonstrates need. 5. The McCollam / Howard Family Endowed Scholarship

5 This scholarship is open to any student preparing for a teaching career and who meets the following criteria: Must be a single custodial parent; must be admitted to the Teacher Education Program; minimum 2.75 GPA or higher; demonstrated financial need; and successful recipients are eligible to reapply next year. Department of Human Environmental Sciences 1. Sue McCauley Scholarship This scholarship is open to any graduate student majoring in Family & Child Studies and who is deemed to be outstanding, determined by leadership skills shown in personal statement. 2. FLE Faculty/Alumni Scholarship This scholarship is open to any student who has declared Family Life Education as their major and meets the following criteria: 3.0 GPA; and participates in the department s student professional organizations. 3. Cora Morton Loafman Scholarship for Human Environmental Sciences This scholarship is open to any student who is pursuing their degree in Human Environmental Sciences at the University of Central Oklahoma. Department of Kinesiology and Health Studies 1. Emma W. Plunkett Physical Education Graduate Fellowship The fellowship is open to female students who are pursuing their master s degree and who meet the following criteria: Major coursework in physical education; Obtained an undergraduate teaching degree in physical education from accredited institution; Minimum overall undergraduate GPA of 3.0 & minimum undergraduate major GPA of 3.0; and Demonstrated activities compatible with an aspiring professional, including professional memberships & participation in professional meetings. In the second year, the recipient must meet the following criteria: A minimum GPA of 3.5 in all classes taken; Successful fulfillment of assigned responsibilities; and Continued professional involvement. 2. Emma Plunkett Scholarship This scholarship is open to female students majoring in physical education who meet the following criteria: Minimum 3.0 overall GPA, minimum 3.0 major GPA; active membership in the UCO KHS Club

6 & the OAHPERD; involvement in the Kinesiology & Health Studies departmental activities; and financial need may be considered. 3. Virginia Peters Physical Education Undergraduate Scholarship This scholarship is open to sophomore female students who meet the following criteria: Sophomore standing minimum 2.8 overall GPA; pursuing a Health/Physical Education teaching degree; active membership in the UCO KHS Club & the OAHPERD; involvement in the Kinesiology & Health Studies departmental activities; demonstrate commitment to a physically active & physically fit lifestyle; and demonstrate appropriate behavior reflective of a professional person. 4. Emma Plunkett Physical Education Undergraduate Scholarship This scholarship is open to junior and senior female students who meet the following criteria: Junior Standing minimum 2.8 overall GPA; senior standing minimum 2.8 overall GPA; pursuing a Health/Physical Education teaching degree; active membership in the UCO KHS Club & the OAHPERD; involvement in the Kinesiology & Health Studies departmental activities; demonstrate commitment to a physically active & physically fit lifestyle; and demonstrate appropriate behavior reflective of a professional person. 5. Homer Coker Scholarship This scholarship is open to any junior or senior standing in the year for which the scholarship is given and who meets the following criteria: 3.0 GPA; participation in significant campus activities; and preference given to students from Oklahoma. 6. Dr. Joan E. Bottger Endowed Scholarship for Kinesiology This scholarship is open to any student preparing to teach Physical Education & Health in the school or university setting and who meets the following criteria: Admitted to teacher education program & accepted for student teaching; active member of the UCO Kinesiology & Health Studies major club & the Oklahoma Association of Health, Physical Education, Recreation & Dance (OAHPERD); involved in Kinesiology & Health Studies Departmental activities; demonstrate commitment to a physically active & physically fit lifestyle; demonstrate appropriate behavior reflective of a professional person; and financial need to be considered. 7. Muriel A. Herbrand Scholarship This scholarship is open to a female student who is majoring in physical education/health and who meets the following criteria: Admitted to Student Teaching; and active membership in the UCO KHS Club and the Oklahoma Association for Health, Physical Education, Recreation, and Dance. 8. Ryanne Hauschild Scholarship for Kinesiology

7 This scholarship is open to any student who is majoring in Kinesiology Exercise/Fitness Management and who meets the following criteria: A student of good character; (2) letters of character reference; and GPA and Financial need may be considered when students of similar character are evaluated. 9. Jeff McKibbin Endowed Scholarship for Athletic Training This scholarship is open to any graduate student majoring in Athletic Training and who meets the following criteria: Full time graduate student; Minimum 3.0 GPA; and complete a personal statement outlining personal goals and ambitions and an assessment of UCO's Masters in Athletic Training Program. Department of Psychology 1. Dr. Fred s (William A. Frederickson) Mentorship Endowed Scholarship This scholarship is open to any student who is pursuing a teaching degree and who meets the following criteria: Undergraduate or Graduate student in the psychology program; 3.0 GPA or higher; enrolled in 9 or 12 credit hours or more; participant in a student research assistantship when awarded; and faculty reference letter. 2. Lois V. and Dr. Philip Ball Endowed Scholarship in Psychology This scholarship is open to any student who is pursuing a psychology degree and who meets the following criteria: Undergraduate or Graduate student in the psychology program; preference will be given to students who are interested in Counseling Psychology; 3.0 GPA or higher; and enrolled in 9 or 12 credit hours or more. 3. Dr. Mike Knight Endowed Scholarship in Psychology This scholarship is open to any graduate student who is pursuing a psychology degree and who meets the following criteria: Graduate student in the psychology program; 3.25 GPA or higher; enrolled in 9 credit hours or more; and submission of a personal introspective paper entitled, "What I would do for free". Graduate Studies Program 1. Tommy C. Beavers Endowed Graduate Studies Scholarship in Education This scholarship is open to any graduate student who is pursuing their masters degree in any area of education related to K 12 and who meets the following criteria: Complete application and transcript;

8 pursuing a Master s degree in any area of Education; minimum 3.0 GPA; completed (6) hours of graduate studies toward a Master s degree in any area of Education related to grades K 12; currently employed in any area of education in an Oklahoma Public School in grades K 12; has a desire to continue working in any area of Education for the Oklahoma Public Schools in grades K 12; and financial need to be considered. 2. Enid L. Jackson Endowed Graduate Scholarship This scholarship is open to any graduate student who is pursuing their masters degree in Elementary Education, Early Childhood Education, or Special Education and who meets the following criteria: Has completed at least (12) graduate hours; demonstrates financial need and personal career goals; and has an intent to teach after receiving degree. 3. Emma Weaver Rodkey Endowed Graduate Studies Scholarship This scholarship is open to any graduate student who is pursuing their masters degree in any area of Education and who meets the following criteria: Full time student; outstanding academic record (overall GPA, Content GPA, and current coursework GPA will be used to determine); and provides (3) letters of reference, with at least (2) from professors and (1) from a member of the community or an employer (past or present). College Wide 1. John & Maxine Kessler Endowed Memorial Scholarship This scholarship is open to any student who is majoring in any field related to College of Education & Professional Studies and meets the following criteria: Minimum 3.0 GPA; and demonstrates financial need. 2. Alvin Alcorn Endowed Memorial Scholarship This scholarship is open to any student who is majoring in any field related to College of Education & Professional Studies and meets the following criteria: Demonstrates extraordinary leadership skills; and demonstrates financial need. 3. Betty B.
