4 PROCUREMENT GUIDE LISTINGS The ITC Procurement & Resource Guide is provided to government agencies, non-profit organisations and businesses of all sizes to assist them in their purchasing requirements. Inclusion in the Guide is automatic for all ITC members. Each listing includes the following information: Organisation name Physical and web address Contact number and fax number Contact address 250 word profile (maximum) The Guide is compiled in four sections: Corporate members Category-wise member list Location of members by country, state and city Quick reference list Listings will appear in one section of the Guide with the exception of Corporate Members who may list in a maximum of three categories. Publication Policy: All listings must refrain from using industry-specific, jargon, and acronyms. Advertising/articles/announcements with content that promotes, fosters, or perpetuates discrimination on the basis of race, creed, colour, age, religion, gender, marital status, status with regard to public assistance, national origin, physical or mental disability or sexual orientation will not be considered for publication. Final inclusion in the Guide is at the discretion of the Council. The Council s audience is demographically diverse, comprising of members and non-members from a variety of industries and consumer groups across the globe. The Council s main social media channels are: Twitter, LinkedIn, YouTube and Google+. We use these outlets to promote our members, promote Council events, programmes and advocacy; ask for feedback or share news. We also share posts on AOL Lifestream, Bibsonomy, Bitly, Delicious, Diigo, Feedspot, FriendFeed, Hi5, Instapaper, Newsvine, Plurk, Pocket, Scoop.it, Skyrock, Slashdot, Stumbleupon, Tagged & Tumblr. *Council members can request up to 5 posts per month across the Council s 22 social networking pages ADVERTISING OPPORTUNITIES GUIDE 6
7 ONLINE PRESS RELEASE DISTRIBUTION Have your press release placed in hundreds of top search engines, news websites, blogs, social networks, online magazines, internet TV and radio websites. A good news story creates a buzz in your industry and informs people of important updates in your company, products or services. Examples of the type of press releases published by the Council for its members include: Partnerships / joint ventures Winning a tender Recruitment of an important staff member Announcing an upcoming event The launch of a new product or service Opinions on recent industry development Depending on its content, your press release may rank highly in search engines and increase the chance that your news will get picked up by journalists and/or industry insiders who are looking for content for their next story. ITC members can get up to 5 free press releases per month. Benefit from: Extensive distribution Instant exposure Improved online branding * All press releases must be between words and comply with international press release standards. Brochures and non-newsworthy content may not be accepted. * Student, retirees and non-profit organisations are not eligible for this service. 8 NEWSLETTER ADVERTISING Get your business into the in-box of millions of businesses. The International Trade Council newsletter is ed monthly to more than 2.3 million businesses in 76 countries. New member s profiles are included automatically at no cost. Free advertising options for Council members: Business card advertisement (a black and white or coloured image of approximately 3.5 x 2 inches in size) Text advertisement and website and/or link (up to 350 words plus your logo) News articles (up to 1000 words plus 2 images) Examples of relevant advertising content: Details of a specific product or service offered Partnership requests Tender notices Employment offers News must be formatted as an article not as a press release and utilise correct spelling and grammar in either US or UK English. Interesting and relevant content is also essential to ensure that your 'call to action' is effective. Tips for effective advertisements: Define a value proposition Keep your message simple Be relevant to your target market * All advertisements must be sent at least 7 days prior to publication. Space is limited as each newsletter can carry a total of 50 advertisements and 20 articles per month. Images must be sent as high resolution JPG or PNG files. 13 INTERNATIONAL TRADE MISSIONS The International Trade Council provides support for entrepreneurs in international trade by taking them to key overseas markets and showcasing their capabilities to potential buyers, investors and trading partners. The Council works to represent these organisations and advocate their commercial and economic interests as they travel along the path to export success.
