1 Assurance for Service Providers Assurance for service providers is the first automated solution that addresses compliance challenges faced throughout the lifecycle of a user. It provides ESPs with a comprehensive toolset for the onboarding, monitoring, and remediation of users. 2 Khan Academy is a non-profit educational organization created to provide a free, world-class education for anyone, anywhere. They started ing 2.48 million of their most recently registered users, with good deliverability, but as they began onboarding the remaining 4 million users, their deliverability dropped significantly. DataValidation was used to clean the list of 4 million subscribers. The invalid addresses were removed, and Khan Academy started re-sending s almost immediately. ONBOARDING For an service provider, the onboarding process can be one of the most problematic and time consuming areas in the lifecycle of a user. Assurance simplifies and clarifies this process, giving the ESP more control and visibility when accepting new users. When onboarding a new user, Assurance analyzes all of the subscribers within an account. The ESP is provided a grade overview for each list and an overall score for the user. 3 MONITORING service providers rely on users to follow best practices with list growth and maintenance. Until a user deploys an marketing campaign, ESPs have no way of knowing the toxicity of the data in the list. Monitoring is much like a radar system. ESPs can view a user s data in real-time, detect problems before they arise, and alert the deliverability team before problems become bigger issues. Assurance monitors existing and new list data for all of an ESP s users, then provides a daily snapshot of the list quality. 4 REMEDIATION When a user s data falls below compliance thresholds, the service provider must take immediate action. This is a delicate point in the ESP s relationship with a user. Remediation allows ESPs to retain good users and keep revenue flowing. Assurance provides a grade for each subscriber on a list, allowing the ESP to control the data that flows through their system. How much can an ESP lose when users are fired? How much can an ESP recover when users are rehabilitated? In 2012, approximately 5000 new users joined MailChimp each day. A user with 10,000 subscribers pays $75/month to send through a top tier ESP. To lose a single user with only 10,000 subscribers could cost an ESP $900 in yearly revenue. According to MailChimp, on average 400 users a day were fired - that s 146,000 users in an entire year. If all 146,000 users only had 10,000 subscribers each, over $131 million could be lost in one year! - $ $ 131,400,000 potential yearly loss If MailChimp shut down 400 accounts a day in 2012, and had 5000 new accounts sign up daily, we can assume that 12.5% of new users are eventually fired. In 2013, MailChimp had approximately 2,409,660 new users, meaning approximately 301,207 accounts were shut down. It cannot be assumed that all 301,207 users are good senders. If only 50% of these users can be rehabilitated, and each user has 10,000 subscribers, MailChimp could potentially receover $86 million a year! +$ $ 135,543,150 could be recovered
