The approach is that the more you know about what and how students are learning, the better you can plan learning activities to structure your teaching. The techniques are mostly simple, non-graded, anonymous, in-class activities that give both you and your student useful feedback on the teaching-learning process. Participants will create activities to take back to the classroom and use. They can be easily applied to your face-to-face courses using any Learning Management System (LMS). QM framework is about course design, and making your course navigation and structure intuitive, so that students questions will be more focused on the content of your course. 11 mesa ctl training About the Center for Teaching & Learning at Mesa Community College The Center for Teaching and Learning leads and inspires the advancement of innovative teaching and learning for student success. Mission The Center for Teaching and Learning at MCC provides: Leadership and support for teaching and learning at the college Guidance for innovative classroom teaching and learning projects Consulting services in support of teaching and learning and academic success Professional development opportunities for enhancing student learning Environments for professional collaboration, reflection, and dialogue Our Programs C.A.F.E. Program The goal of the C.A.F.E. program is to provide professional development opportunities for adjunct faculty to become more integrated into the college community and academic culture at Mesa Community College. In addition, this stipend-based program will encourage adjunct faculty to contribute to the academic life of the college. C.A.F.E.. is not a district-wide program, thus only adjunct faculty who teach courses at Mesa Community College and are not board approved employees are eligible. Workshops that are eligible for C.A.F.E. credit are marked in this guide. For more information about the C.A.F.E. program, visit ctl.mesacc.edu/programs/cafe/. Learning Spaces The Center for Teaching & Learning has two experimental classrooms: AS 191 and AS 196 on the Southern and Dobson campus that are available for use by faculty innovation and experimentation with teaching and learning or new instructional designs. Faculty can submit a proposal to use the rooms for focused experimentation on a longer-term basis, or they can request the rooms for intermittent or occasional use.
