2 This Executive Administrative Professional Certificate Administrative professionals are often the heart and soul of successful organizations, serving as internal communicators, organizers and facilitators, while functioning as the voice and face of the business to its external customers. The continuing education and professional development necessary to achieve executive certification often leads to higher wages and increased promotion opportunity for certified executive administrative professionals compared to their uncertified peers. The focus of the training is on technology, supervision, business and project management, and addresses business communication and writing, customer service, professionalism and work ethic, as well as training on advanced levels of the Microsoft Office 2013 Suite, including Excel, Word and PowerPoint. Previous training in keyboarding, word processing applications, and other secretarial topics may be beneficial. Who Should Attend Individuals who have been in the Administrative field who have experience but would like something to show for it. Secretaries, administrative assistants, office managers, office coordinators, office supervisors and more - ranging from entry-level positions to executive assistant positions to managerial positions. Previous courses in keyboarding, word processing applications and other secretarial topics may be beneficial. Duration This certificate will begin August 25, 2015 and ends November 17, 2015 for a total of 50 hours. This group of software includes Word, Excel, PowerPoint and Access, which are commonly used in both home and business settings. Students will practice creating documents, resumes, budget spreadsheets, databases and slide presentations in a step-by-step, hands-on learning environment. A textbook is included in the cost of the class. Date: Tuesday/Thursday, October 13, 15, , 27, 29 and November 3 & (Must attend all Sessions) Time: 6 8 p.m. Trainer: Julia Holdridge Microsoft Excel 2013 Fast-Paced Level 2 This intermediate-level class introduces more features of Microsoft Excel 2013, building on Level 1. Students will learn to create large worksheets and workbooks, tables, outlines and templates. They will also practice inserting clip art, pictures, SmartArt and digital signatures. Date: Thursday, November 5, 2015 Time: 9 a.m. 4 p.m. Microsoft Word 2013 Fast-Paced - Level 2 This intermediate level class requires previous experience with the basics of Microsoft Word Students will learn more complex skills that include creating newsletter columns, using WordArt and clip art, and choosing document themes and styles. The class also covers formatting and editing tools for academic writing, picture editing, and the mail merge function. An illustrated textbook is included in the cost of the class. Date: Tuesday, November 10, 2015 Time: 9 a.m. 4 p.m. Dress Etiquette: Aiming for Professionalism Regardless of ability, work ethic, sense of responsibility and productivity, people are most judged in the workplace for the physical image they present to others. This class will offer some basic rules to define business professional attire vs. business casual attire, and when or where each is appropriate or expected.
