ACCT 577 (Investment Planning) - Graduate course covering general investment principles and how they apply to financial planning. ACCT 576 (Fundamentals of Financial Planning) - Graduate course covering the fundamentals of financial planning required to sit for the CFP designation. FIN 497/597 (International Finance) - Split level course taught during the summer in London at King s College. I have taught students in 2010, 2011, and 2012 in a 30 day study abroad program that covers international finance, corporate tax structure, and exchange rates. FIN 497/597 (Global Financial Crisis) - Split level course taught during the summer in China at the China University of Geosciences, Beijing. I taught a 10 day course on the global implications of the 2008 financial crisis during the summer of HACE 6205/4205 (Individual Investment Planning and Portfolio Management) - Graduate/ Undergraduate course focusing on the tools and techniques necessary to build a portfolio using both financial planning software and theories employed by the financial planning industry. Course taught at the University of Georgia HACE 6210/4210 (Retirement Planning) - Graduate/Undergraduate course designed to examine the topics of retirement planning and retirement plans using a case study approach. Course taught at the University of Georgia Program Development Certified Financial Planning Board Registered Certificate Program Director as director I maintained high enrollments which generate revenue for the college of business. Hired new professors into the program. I have brought in new faculty who are area specialists to teach classes within the program. Implemented teaching effectiveness and quality control program to eliminate poor teaching methods within the program. Registered program with CFP Board under annual renewal. Student retention and growth improved dramatically during my tenure. Developed two new advertising campaigns to increase organic growth. Both have shown effectiveness in drawing in new markets not yet captured. Rebranded the program with a new website and logo to help delineate us from other online programs. Certified Retirement Counselor Program Director as director I developed preliminary curriculum and started the first CRC education program in the country. The program is designed to provide both current students and new students the educational curriculum necessary to practice as retirement professionals. 5
6 Course Development Personal Financial Planning Elective (ECO 233) designed, attained approval, and implemented a college-wide course in personal financial planning. All students at TAMU-C now have an opportunity to learn about the basics of financial literacy and developing a long term financial plan once they graduate from college. Service Committees Chairperson of Faculty Development Committee charged with evaluating faculty development grants within the TAMU-C system and reporting recommendations to the Provost s Office Present University Strategic Planning Task Force Committee charged with developing a clear vision for the University for that will serve as a guide for strategies that the University can implement to achieve its stated mission and goals. Department of Economics and Finance Scholarship Committee determines criteria, eligibility and selects candidates for the William Carroll Adams Scholarship Endowment, Lester "Bill" Stone Endowment, and the Drs.
