7 Cybersecurity - Internet of things Geofencing CopSonic is a French start-up launched in September CopSonic is developing a sonic and ultrasonic authentication technology which relies on a team of 14 engineers specialized in security, payments, and contactless sonic/ultrasonic communication protocols. We perform proximity detection by exchanging encrypted sonic or ultrasonic waves. We currently address 4 markets (mobile payment, passwordless authentication, omni-channel retail, internet of things). In all cases the main idea is to use sonic or ultrasonic IDs to check the proximity of 2 smart devices to match them together. As any device equipped with at least a microphone or speakers is compatible with the solution, it is available for 100% of mobile phones, including feature phones. CopSonic is supplied as SDK compatible with all major platforms and can operate on any data or gsm network.
