2 1 Interpretatin 1.1 The UFB Handver Cnnectin Service described in this Service Descriptin will be available frm the date it is launched by the LFC. The LFC will ntify the Service Prvider f the launch date fr the UFB Handver Cnnectin Service. 1.2 References t clauses r sectins are references t clauses r sectins in this Service Descriptin unless expressly prvided therwise. The definitins set ut in the General Terms and the Operatins Manual apply t this Service Descriptin unless expressly prvided therwise. 1.3 References t the Operatins Manual are references t the peratins manual fr the Bitstream Services. 2 The UFB Handver Cnnectin Service 2.1 The UFB Handver Cnnectin Service is a linking service that prvides the inter-netwrk cnnectivity between the ther Bitstream Services and the Service Prvider netwrks. The UFB Handver Cnnectin Service is part f the family f Bitstream Services set ut belw: Bitstream 2 Bitstream 3 Bitstream 3a Bitstream 4 UFB Handver Cnnectin Multicast ATA Vice Based n the TCF Mass Market service. Based n the TCF Business service. Based n the TCF Business service with Lw Pririty ptins. Based n the TCF Business Premium service. Based n the TCF E-NNI specificatin. Based n the TCF Ethernet Multicast Access (EMA) service. An analgue telephne access service. 2.2 A diagram f the cnfiguratin fr the UFB Handver Cnnectin Service is set ut in Appendix A. The UFB Handver Cnnectin Service prvides the bitstream ENNI functins at the POI that enables a Service Prvider t access and intercnnect with the LFC Netwrk. 2.3 The UFB Handver Cnnectin Service is an input service which a Service Prvider can cmbine with ther Bitstream Services (and the Service Prvider s wn netwrk r whlesale services prvided by ther prviders) t prvide fibre based telecmmunicatins services t End Users The UFB Handver Cnnectin Service has the fllwing key characteristics: Prvides the inter-netwrk cnnectivity fr the fllwing Bitstream Services: (a) Bitstream 2; (b) Bitstream 3; (c) Bitstream 3a; (d) Bitstream 4; (e) (f) ATA Vice; and Multicast Operates as an Ethernet bitstream linking service that allws up t 4093 Service VLANS, each with 4093 End User VLANs, t be passed t the Service Prvider. 3 2.4.3 Supprts multiple physical links fr redundancy and capacity using Link Aggregatin Gruping (LAG) Cmplies with the E-NNI services specified in the TCF Ethernet Access Service Descriptin v24, 19 January UFB Handver Cnnectin Service and implementatin activities Installatin Services 3.1 The UFB Handver Cnnectin Service includes a Standard Install (in each case t the extent that the relevant prvisining wrks are nt already cmplete fr the relevant Service Order). A Standard Install fr the UFB Handver Cnnectin Service includes: ne r mre GigE r 10 GigE physical prts at the POI; and a fibre cable frm each physical prt t the POI MOFDF. Cre UFB Handver Cnnectin Service 3.2 The UFB Handver Cnnectin Service is cmprised f: An Ethernet E-NNI Service that supprts the pass-thrugh f ther Bitstream Services t an MOFDF at the POI Uses duble-tagged 802.1ad frames n the E-NNI at the POI. VLAN allcatin is based n the bitstream access services mapped t that E-NNI: (a) (b) (c) Outer tag (Service) VLAN Identifiers (SVID) will be allcated serially cmmencing with SVID = 2; Inner tag (Custmer) VLAN identifiers (CVID) will be allcated r carried accrding t the Bitstream service; Bitstream VLAN Identifier allcatin rules are as fllws: Bitstream service Bitstream 2 Bitstream 3/3a Bitstream 4 ATA Vice 1 Multicast 2 VLAN ID allcatin rules SVID, CVID per service instance SVID per service instance. CVID = transparent SVID per service instance. CVID = transparent SVID, CVID per service instance SVID per service instance 1 2 Final VLAN allcatin rules fr ATA Vice are yet t be defined. There may be a requirement fr tw VLANs, ne fr signalling and ne fr vice. As Multicast is delivered thrugh the Prduct Develpment Prcess final VLAN allcatin rules will be defined per Service Template Tagged traffic is treated accrding t the individual Bitstream Service traffic management rules as set ut in the relevant service descriptin The UFB Handver Cnnectin Service supprts tw speed ptins: (a) (b) 1 GigE; and 10 GigE; This speed represents the maximum bandwidth available t all ther Bitstream Services delivered thrugh the UFB Handver Cnnectin Service. 4 3.2.5 LAG allws multiple physical prts t be cmbined int a single UFB Handver Cnnectin Service. In the event f the failure f ne physical link, the traffic management rules apply. Only same speed links may be cmbined int a LAG grup. Traffic Management Rules On egress (upstream) High Pririty traffic is strictly priritised ver Lw Pririty traffic The sum f High and Lw Pririty traffic prfiles f all services delivered at a UFB Handver Cnnectin can exceed the UFB Handver Cnnectin line rate. If there is insufficient line rate t deliver the traffic then frames will be randmly discarded, based n their Class f Service precedence, and perfrmance characteristics fr that Class f Service d nt apply. It is therefre the Service Prvider s respnsibility t shape and queue traffic apprpriately. Supprt fr multiple bitstream access services 3.3 One instance f the UFB Handver Cnnectin Service can supprt any cmbinatin f ther Bitstream Services up t the available VLAN ID allcatin space and subject t the maximum bandwidth f the UFB Handver Cnnectin Service selected by the Service Prvider under clause Operatins, Administratin and Maintenance 3.4 The UFB Handver Cnnectin Service will supprt Ethernet Service Operatins and Maintenance (OAM) fr service integrity testing, fault diagnstics and perfrmance measurement using ITU Y OAM capability will be phased in as the functinality is develped and deplyed in scale. Service Requirements 3.5 T use the UFB Handver Cnnectin Service the Service Prvider must have the capability t access and intercnnect with it, by ne f the fllwing: c-lcating Service Prvider equipment at the POI using the Central Office and POI Clcatin Service; cnnecting t third party c-lcatin space at the POI with the third party taking the Central Office and POI C-lcatin Service; r cnnecting t a backhaul service that cnnects t the MOFDF at the POI by using a Direct Fibre Access Service t cnnect t Service Prvider equipment at a remte lcatin within the Central Office area. Additinal Service Characteristics 3.6 The technical specificatin f the UFB Handver Cnnectin Service is set ut in Appendix B. 3.7 The LFC will prvide certain supprt and ther assistance as part f the UFB Handver Cnnectin Service including: an autmated facility fr service requests; and an autmated facility fr fault ntificatins, each as mre particularly set ut in the Operatins Manual. 3.8 The UFB Handver Cnnectin Service specifically excludes: any ther Bitstream Service; prvisin r maintenance f any cabling r cnnectin r active device beynd the service demarcatin pints described in clauses 4.1 and 5.1; cnfiguratin, mnitring, peratin, n-ging supprt r maintenance f Service Prviders' r End User s applicatins, equipment r netwrks; and supply f AC Mains & UPS Pwer, accmmdatin space, heating, ventilating, air cnditining and ther similar services and facilities at the POI. 5 4 End User facing Service Demarcatin Pint 4.1 The End User facing service demarcatin pint is a nminal pint lcated n the trunk side f the handver EAS. There is n physical demarcatin pint and n ability t directly cnnect t this nminal pint. 5 Service Demarcatin Pints at POI 5.1 The service demarcatin pint fr the UFB Handver Cnnectin Service at the POI is the MOFDF in the POI. 6 LFC and Service Prvider Respnsibilities 6.1 Other LFC and Service Prvider respnsibilities are detailed in the General Terms and the Operatins Manual. 7 UFB Handver Cnnectin Service Levels 7.1 Service Levels fr the UFB Handver Cnnectin Service are set ut in the Service Level Terms fr the Bitstream Services. 8 UFB Handver Cnnectin Diversity 8.1 The UFB Handver Cnnectin Service prvides a single interface between the ther Bitstream Services and the Service Prvider s netwrk. 8.2 Where a secnd r subsequent instance f the UFB Handver Cnnectin Service is required t pick up the ther Bitstream Services within a Candidate Area, LFC may be able t engineer the secnd r subsequent UFB Handver Cnnectin Service t prvide a level f diversity. There may be practical limitatins t prviding full physical diversity t sme sites. The prvisin f a separate entry t an LFC Central Office will have unique site specific engineering cnsideratins and will attract additinal csts. Chrus UFB Services Agreement Page 5 f 7

It is nt intended t represent every situatin r detailed physical architecture. The fllwing pint shuld be nted: Link Aggregatin Gruping (LAG) supprts N x 1 GigE r N x 10 GigE physical handvers, delivered as a single lgical handver. The UFB Handver Cnnectin Service prvides the E-NNI functin fr the ther Bitstream Services. The specific E-NNI attributes are defined in the service descriptins fr the ther Bitstream Services. The linking services cnnect the UFB Handver Cnnectin Service t the Service Prvider Netwrk Pint f Presence as fllws: Tie Cables can cnnect the UFB Handver Cnnectin Service frm the MOFDF t Clcatin Ftprints at the POI. The Ftprints can be the Service Prvider s Ftprint r third party Ftprints. Tie Cables t third party Ftprints require agreement between the LFC, the Service Prvider and the third party. Backhaul is a service that can be prvided by LFC, the Service Prvider r a third party. Internal building fibres may cmply with ITU-T G.657A but cable must meet apprpriate fire regulatins. Fibre terminatins must be SC/APC type cnnectrs (cmplying with the IEC standard) r LC/APC type cnnectrs (cmplying with the IEC standard) as apprpriate.
