4 You ll get a clear, accurate and transparent monthly invoice, and an online report showing how the cost of your energy is calculated. Buy your energy your way You re the customer. So we do everything we can to fit our products and services to your needs. With our flexible purchasing products, you can track the market prices and decide when and how to buy your energy during your contract. Which could mean lower gas and electricity costs. You ll have access to both the short and long term markets, and direct access to our retail energy traders. Everything s transparent, and you re always in control. How it works We ll agree the contract terms with you, to cover the volume of energy you need. We ll also agree a fixed management fee, along with any balancing and shape costs. Then you re free to buy some or all of your energy through a number of small tranches for months, seasons, quarters and years. You can also transact within a month, and always at live market prices. You can unfix transactions, and buy energy using a variety of indexes. We ll provide a number of detailed reports to show how your purchases compare to the current market prices, and how much energy you have open. Of course, you re not on your own. 16 Intelligent metering means your bills are more accurate, and you can clearly apportion costs to profit or cost centres. Measurement is management Intelligent metering is a method of remotely collecting meter readings and profile data from utility meters. The data is usually transmitted by GSM (Global System for Mobile Communications) technology, which sends meter readings to our offices by text message. This data is used to produce your monthly invoice. Depending on what you need, you can choose from a range of data packages, including half-hourly breakdowns, delivered on a day-plus-one basis or at month end. Benefits Commercial and industrial users are under legislative pressure to look carefully at their consumption of gas, in the same way they do for power.
