1) Manual Readings Index
Manual Readings Index Overview Mechanism to input consumption data into the system for non-automatic meters. Data can be pulled upon in various formats via the charts feature. Provides auditable data records for the CRC. Data and information can be viewed by selecting the Manual Readings icon:
Manual Readings Index How is information added? Directly from copy invoices. One set of information per each set of meter readings on an invoice. Invoice: Manual Readings Index: The reasons for entering data in this way are
Manual Readings Index 1) Facilitate the assessment of actual and estimated supplies at the end of a CRC reporting year. 2) Maximise data accuracy. The system uses a pro rata calculation to estimate the consumption per day. The greater number of readings available, the greater the accuracy of the data. 3) Allow flexibility for re-bills. It is possible that a bill will be credited back for only one set of readings in an invoice.
Manual Readings Index What information is added? Invoice date: Date that the invoice was issued Reference: Invoice number Start / End dates: Consumption dates covered by the invoice Meter: Either MPAN or MPR Open / Close: - Dates: Open and close dates of readings - Readings: Readings recorded for the open and close dates - Units: (e.g. m3, f3, kwh). - Estimated or actual: Shows whether a reading is estimated or actual Cost: Total cost minus VAT. Apportioned to kwh consumption where split Consumption: kwh consumption between open and close dates Type: Used when there are more than one reading per meter (e.g. day / night) Preceded / Superseded: If an invoice is a re-bill it will be marked as Preceded. There is an option to show all original invoices that have been Superseded by selecting the Select All icon: Document: Downloadable version of the invoice which the information has been taken from Related: Any related documents, e.g. a credit note for a superseded invoice Details: Summary of entry, explanatory notes, details of who made the entry
2) Document Library
Document Library Overview Allows quick and easy access of copy invoices, credit notes, and re-bills. Associated specifically with a site. Shows any invoices attached via the Manual Index Readings feature. Invoices can also be added without any associated information or data (e.g. for automatic meters). Can be accessed by selecting the Document Library icon:
3) Using the Data
Using the Data Consumption data from non-automatic meters can now be retrieved along with data from automatic meters (I.e. HH and AMR). Data can be displayed in charts, gauges, and tables using the charts feature. Charts can be accessed using the charts icon: If a chart is displayed as this means that particular chart is not applicable. Data can be filtered by: - Period: Date range - Commodity: Gas or electricity or both - Supply: Meter, franchise, site, company - Frequency: Hourly (HH supplies only), daily, monthly, yearly - Chart type: E.g. consumption, area, CO 2
Using the Data - Consumption Shows kwh consumption over a specified time. Separates different energy types by colour and also by day and night as defined in either the tariff, or manual entry. Compatible with: Half hourly meters AMR meters Manual entry meters
Using the Data - Consumption E.g. 1: Total gas consumption for a site, for a month, split by days. - Period: January Commodity: Gas - Supply: site1 - Frequency: Daily A report is also available which can be downloaded and either saved or printed. Consumption between 01/01/ /01/2013 = 40,876 kwh Days between 01/01/ /01/2013 = 27 Consumption per day = 40,876 kwh / 27 days Consumption per day = 1,513.9 kwh Consumption between 28/01/ /02/2013 = 6,824 kwh Days between 28/01/ /02/2013 = 4 Consumption per day = 6,824 kwh / 4 days Consumption per day = 1,706 kwh
Using the Data - Consumption E.g. 2: Total gas consumption, for a franchise, for a year, split by month. - Period: Whole of Commodity: Gas - Supply: site2 - Frequency: Monthly E.g. 3: Total gas and electricity consumption, for a franchise, for a year, split by month. - Period: Whole of Commodity: Gas and electricity - Supply: Toyota franchise - Frequency: Monthly
Using the Data - Consumption E.g. 4: Total gas and electricity consumption, for the entire company, for a year, split by month. - Period: Whole of Commodity: Gas and electricity - Supply: All - Frequency: Monthly E.g. 5: Total gas and electricity consumption, for the entire company, for a year, split by week. - Period: Whole of Commodity: Gas and electricity - Supply: All - Frequency: Weekly
Using the Data Energy Consumption Displays the same data as the consumption chart. Clusters the energy types rather than stacking them. Compatible with: Half hourly meters AMR meters Manual entry meters
Using the Data Energy Consumption E.g.: Total gas and electricity consumption, for a franchise, for a year, split by month. - Period: Whole of Commodity: Gas and electricity - Supply: site2 - Frequency: Monthly
Using the Data CO 2 Emissions Provide details of a carbon emissions for a site, franchise, or company. Uses the DECC Carbon Emissions. Compatible with: Half hourly meters AMR meters Manual entry meters
Using the Data CO 2 Emissions E.g.: Total gas and electricity consumption, for a site, for a year, split by month. -Period: Whole of Commodity: Electricity and gas -Supply: site2 -Frequency: Monthly Once a full two year s worth of data is available, the system will compare one year s total CO 2 with the CO 2 for the same dates in the previous year. The difference from the previous year will be displayed in a colour-coded gauge: Red: 0 % and under Amber: 0 9 % and over Green: 10 % and over
Using the Data Summary By Area Allows you to view a breakdown of total consumption, by meter. This is useful for showing which sites or areas are consuming the most energy within a company or franchise. Compatible with: Half hourly meters AMR meters Manual entry meters
Using the Data Summary By Area E.g. 1: Total electricity consumption, for a franchise, for a week, split by day. -Period: Whole of Commodity: Electricity -Supply: Toyota franchise -Frequency: Daily
Using the Data Power Factor Shows how effectively electrical power is being used. High power factor = efficient use Low power factor = poor use Compatible with: Half hourly meters AMR meters Manual entry meters No
Using the Data Power Factor E.g.: Total electricity consumption, for a site, for a year, split by month. -Period: January Commodity: Electricity -Supply: site3 -Frequency: Daily The value on the PF gauge is the average power factor for the period date range specified, scaled up by 100. Red, amber and green guidance: 0.95 and above = Green = Amber 0.85 and below = Red
3) Summary 1) ENMAT supports manually read meters as well as automatic meters. Data is entered using the Manual Readings Index. 2) Data for manually read meters can be combined in charts and tables for analysis using the Charts feature. 3) Documents can be downloaded from the Document Library. 4) Meter Readings Index provides an auditable CRC data record for manually read meters.
