1 CUSD ROP COURSE OFFERINGS for juniors and seniors School Year
2 ROP Career Education courses are available to all Clovis Unified 11th and 12th grade students. The funding for these courses is available to CUSD from the Fresno Regional Occupational Program (ROP). These classes provide students with the opportunity to explore different careers, develop needed skills for today s job market, and prepare for continuing education after high school. CUSD ROP classes are held for a minimum of two periods per day Monday through Friday. ROP classes are held on all CUSD high school campuses. Read further in this booklet to learn how you can earn college credit by taking ROP classes. To enroll in an ROP class, mark the selected class on your registration form, see your counselor, or call the phone number below. For further information on ROP classes, call the Clovis Unified Career Education office at (559) An Affirmative Action Employer Notice of Nondiscrimination The Clovis Unified School District does not discriminate on the basis of race, color, national origin, age, religion, political affiliation, gender, mental or physical disability, sexual orientation, parental or marital status, or any other basis protected by federal, state, or local law, ordinance or regulation, in its educational program(s) or employment, as required by Title VI, Title IX, and Section 504. Complaints: Contact Cheryl Rogers, Human Resources (559) The Fresno County Office of Education does not discriminate on the basis of actual or perceived race, color, national origin, ancestry, religious creed, age, marital status, pregnancy, physical or mental disability, medical condition, veteran status, gender, gender identity, gender expression or sexual orientation, or any other basis protected by federal, state or local law, ordinance or regulation, in its educational program(s) or employment.
3 What high school credits do I earn in ROP classes? Since ROP classes meet for two periods or more per day, students earn 10 credits per semester. Only one class, Medical Careers at Clovis East High School and Clovis North High School, allows for 15 credits per semester due to extended student hours working at local medical facilities. What if a full class schedule doesn t allow enough time to devote to a two-period class? According to CUSD policy, students who have completed 4 semesters of core Physical Education and must travel to another campus or worksite to take an ROP class do not have to enroll in PE. How do I get from my campus to the campus where my ROP class is held? If you have permission, you may drive your own vehicle, or ROP will provide bus transportation between Clovis High and Clovis East. Can I earn college credit by taking ROP classes? Yes! In the chart located in this booklet, classes with a checkmark in the Community College and/or Uni-Track columns allow students to receive both high school graduation and college credit for ROP classes.
