Submitting this form On completion of this form please it with copies of relevant certificates to Please note we will not be able to enrol learners until all certificates have been verified and approved and module fees have been received. All application forms, certificates and payment need to be received 2 weeks prior to your semester start date. Important information for applicants before applying Once enrolled learners will be provided with full details of regulations which apply to this course, however, we feel it is important that we list some of the most significant of these here so learners are aware of these before they apply: 1. Each module lasts 10 weeks and learners will be required to submit all assignments within that time frame. Precise deadlines for individual assignments will be made available to learners on commencement of the module. 2. There are very strict rules for submitting assignments on time. Learners will not be able to submit assignments late. Late assignments will not be marked and learners will be required to re-do the entire module and pay the appropriate fee in this instance. (The exception being for learners who have completed an extenuating circumstances form and submitted this PRIOR to the assignment deadline date. However it will be up to the extenuating circumstances board to decide if a request is upheld or not). The extenuating circumstances board may decide that a learner s case is not reasonable/not significant enough/not backed up with reliable evidence- and in such instances the maximum mark a learner may obtain would be 40% and may be as low as 0%. If learners do not hand in the extenuating circumstances form PRIOR to their assignment hand in date they will be deemed as having failed the module and will need to re-do it and pay the appropriate module fee. 3. Learners are required to gain a minimum of 40% to pass each module. If a learner fails any assignment within a module they will have the opportunity to re-submit this only once and the maximum mark that can be gained in this instance is 40%. Learners will be required to pay a re-submission fee of 60 PER ASSIGNMENT for this. 4. Learners need to be aware that in the case of late assignments they will not be able to progress to the next module until they have handed in the previous module assignments. 5. If you have received a bursary to pay for this course, you will not be able to use your bursary funds toward any re-submission charges. 6. The marks learners receive from their tutor for their module assignments are deemed as provisional to begin with. Module marks can only be confirmed once the UCB Exam Board has convened. The UCB Exam Board sits in January and June each year. 7. Learners are required to complete all of the level 4 modules before completing the level 5 modules. Learners cannot progress to Level 5 until the UCB Exam Board has confirmed the results, hence there may be a delay between a learner completing the level 4 modules before they are able to commence level 5 modules.

4 8. Learners are able to study 2 modules at a time if they wish. Payment will be required in full for both modules before commencement. (Interest free instalment payments are also sometimes available- please call/ for details). 9. Learners should expect to spend 6-8 hours per week studying a 20 credit module and 8-10 hours per week studying a 30 credit module. 10. All learners will be given the name and contact details of their module tutor once enrolled on the course. The module tutor will be the main source of support for learners while studying the module. 11. Learners need to have completed their enrolment no later than 14 days before the start date of their semester-this is to allow time for learners to complete their induction modulesee next point. 12. Before commencing the first 2 modules of this course, learners will need to complete a short induction module. Learners will need to complete this induction module AFTER enrolment but ideally BEFORE the start date of their semester. Learners will not be permitted to progress to the first 2 modules until they have completed the induction module. 13. There are strict rules which apply to this course in relation to plagiarism learners will be required to read the plagiarism code of practice as part of the induction module. Learners will also be required to confirm that they agree not to commit plagiarism throughout the course. 14. The course involves learners watching video clips- some of which may be up to 60 minutes (or longer) in length. It is the learner s responsibility to ensure they have the facility to watch these clips in full via the internet either on their usual computer or elsewhere. There can be no exceptions to this. 15. Learners will be expected to do additional reading over and above what is contained within the course materials. Learners will be provided with reading lists once on the course however it is up to individual learners to source and pay for additional reading materials. (Around 50% of the texts on the reading lists for each module are available as e-books and these are free to access, however we are unable to source all the books as e-books and hence learners will need to source other books themselves for example via libraries or online book stores such as Amazon. International learners who cannot get books delivered to their country of residence may be able to pay for books online and then get these delivered to our office at MNT and we will then post them on to you on receipt of payment from you for postage-please contact us for details). I confirm I have read, understood and agree to all information/requirements contained within this application form and associated terms and conditions.
