The development of basic sensory discrimination and perceptual processes and abnormalities manifested by exceptional children. Co-developed this Office of Instructional Technology, OIT approved online Principles of Behavior: Management for classroom and community use with students with disabilities. Added content and structure to the previously developed online Educational Appraisal of Exceptional Children face-to-face and online: Fundamental concepts in measurement with emphasis upon the utility of various test and assessment procedures. Co-developed this Office of Instructional Technology, OIT approved online UNDERGRADUATE COURSES TAUGHT SPE 329 Survey of Exceptionalities (face-to-face and online) - Introductory course covering the conditions and psychological characteristics of exceptional children. I implemented two service learning projects in this 1) Students in the fall and spring semesters served (played educational games) a total of 4 nights over a two week period in local after school programs (Boys and Girls Club of Nacogdoches and Solid Foundation Association). 2) Students in the spring semester served (8 hours) at the Area 7 East Texas Special Olympics. SPE 460 Children with Behavior Disorders (online) Etiology, characteristics and remediation of behavior disorders of children. Added content and structure to this previously developed course and implemented a field trip to the Martin Alternative Center in NISD. SPE 464 Early Childhood Special Education (face-to-face and online) Comprehensive overview of the field, including medical aspects of serving young children with disabilities, methods, technology, transition and interagency coordination. This course is an online version of the graduate course SPE 564. SPE 461 Practicum in Special Education (face-to-face and online) Enables the student to apply academic experiences in an instructional setting with supervision prior to the student teaching experience. Students must complete 45 contact hours working with children with special needs. (Capstone course and should be taken Page 3 of 11

Prerequistes: SPE 329, 439, 432, 434, 438, and admission to Educator Certification Program I began teaching this course in the Fall of Since 2005, there has been only 1 person (recently and with a documented learning disability) who has not passed the #161 TExES. This student will retest soon. Since 2005, I have had 4 students retake his or her TExES exam in order to pass. All other students have passed his or her TExES on the first attempt. Introduction to Applied Behavior Analysis (face-to-face and online) Principles of behavior management for classroom and community use with students with disabilities. Added content and structure to this previously developed online Academic Instruction for Persons with Disabilities (online) - Addresses effective instructional approaches to help students with disabilities (mental retardation, learning disabilities, behavior disorders) achieve academic goals. Consulting with Parents and Professionals (online) Study of family involvement and ways in which a special education teacher can interact positively with the family and collaborate/consult with other concerned professionals. SPE 432 Educational Appraisal of Exceptional Children (face-to-face and online) - Fundamental concepts of Measurement with emphasis upon the utility and limitations of various test and assessment procedures.
