Tourism industry is helping the improvement of the socio and economic conditions of the tour and travel operators, hoteliers, guides and other dependents. Therefore, the development of tourism sector, each and every state has its own responsibility for making the proper rules and policy on tourism in order to attract more number of tourists in their respective states. In order to give new look to the Tamilnadu tourism industry, in the year the new tourism policy was approved by the government which helps to provide full potential employment, to increase revenues of the economy. It is understood that the new policy should avoid the drawbacks of early tourism policy and it should create new opportunities, above all it should be friendly and risk free. 6 SUGGESTIONS The problem faced by the tourism sector is the off- season problem. It should be rectify by providing uniform applicability of luxury tax on accommodation during off-season. Promotion mix is very important in marketing the product or a services, hence proper promotional mix are needed to market the rural tourism. Both state and central government of India has to take the remedial actions to improve the infrastructural facilities in order to increase the rate of foreign tourists to our country. In the present scenario it is very important to strengthening of the single window system of clearing the projects to give the expected results. REFERENCES 1.
