1 ABSTRACT The Panopto App works on ipads and iphones running the ios App. This guide will walk you through the steps required to download the App and start recording with your personal devices. 3 Centre for Contemporary Teaching & Learning P a g e 2 Panopto App Overview Panopto supports the growing need of providing teaching and learning opportunities that are not confined to the classroom. With Panopto, teachers and students can engage in learning from anywhere in the globe that can access Wi-Fi. Learn Anywhere Watch lectures, presentations, or workshops on personal devices (ios or Android) Search within a video to jump right to where you need to be Navigate videos by tapping on slides, chapters, or transcript. Present and Teach Anywhere Record a presentation or lecture within the built-in camera Record and sync camera video with slides being presented from your laptop Record and share quick videos with your class, co-workers or public audience Step 1 Downloading the Panopto App for ios Panopto has an App which is compatible with all ios devices (phones & tablets). To download the app, 1. Go to the App Store. 2. Search for Panopto and click install Step 2 Using the App for the first time 1. After the app has completed installing, click the Panopto App icon to open. a. For ipad users, tap Sign In in the top left corner b. iphone users, click the menu button which looks like this: (located in the top left corner), then tap Sign In

4 Centre for Contemporary Teaching & Learning P a g e 3 2. Next you will be prompted for the Panopto Server URL. Enter slcme.hosted.panopto.com. 3. This will take you back to the login screen 4. Enter your Panopto username and password and click Sign In Step 3 Create Recordings 1. To create a recording, tap Record and Upload. Then tap the folder that you want to store the file in once completed.

6 Centre for Contemporary Teaching & Learning P a g e 5 3. Once you are finished recording, you have three options: a. To preview the video, tap Play b. To re-record the video, tap Retake c. When you are happy with the video, tap Use 5. To upload your video to the Panopto Server, tap Upload

To upload an existing video, a. ipad users, tap Record and Upload b. iphone uses, tap the menu button, then tap Record and Upload 2. Tap the folder where you want to upload the session. 3. Enter a session name, 4. Tap Choose a video to upload a video from your device. 5. Follow the instructions on the screen. Important Note: Videos can take a substantial amount of time (10+ minutes) to upload to Panopto from the iphone/ipad. The amount of time is dependent on the size of the video and the internet connection being used. Use WIFI connections rather than mobile data wherever possible. Uploading video uses a great deal of data.
