1 Mohegan Council - Treasure Valley Troop Registration What is it? Who Can Attend? A FUN, LEARNING, CAMPING Event just for WEBELOS, Run by Boy Scouts. This is a great tool to energize your Webelos for the adventure that awaits them in Boy Scouting. All First and Second Year Webelos and Leaders/Parents; Boy Scouts to help run stations and logistic team. When is it? September 30- Oct. 2, 2016 Troops Registration opens at 6:30 PM, Friday the 2 nd. Packs will arrive on Saturday Morning. Event activities will be on Saturday only. Register early, this event is capped at 250 Webelos participants! Register by Pack or Troop, no at door arrivals will be allowed. This is a Rain or shine event, please plan accordingly. Location? Cost? Food? What to bring? Kind of Events Treasure Valley Scout Reservation, East Camp Boy Scouts $8.00 each (Saturday Lunch + Patch). Units pays no tent site fee. No charge for Adults with Boy Scout Troop. Registration will be online via Tentaroo. Please see the Council Website for the link. AFTER SEPT. 19 th there will be a $3.00 Late Fee applied to each Scout registration. REGISTRATION CLOSES ON SEPT. 24 th. Lunch on Saturday is in included to all those attending Webelos Woods. All other meals are the responsibilities of the individual units. We encourage Cub Scout Packs to plan and work with a Boy Scout Troop with regards to their menus. Food will be available for purchase in advance from our Camp Kitchen (Breakfast $4, Dinner $7). Bring camping equipment (Tent, sleeping bag, water, etc.) toiletries, rain gear and appropriate clothing, please refer to your Boy Scout Handbook for a camping gear list. Camping! Campfire! Cool Boy Scout Stuff like Pioneering, Cooking, Compass and even some achievements for the Webelos to earn. Webelos will attend 6 different sessions with Boy Scouts and Subject Matter Experts. There will also be plenty of free time and other activities to round out your Camping Fun.

2 More Information Campsites NO Unit will be able to reserve a specific campsite. You may request a campsite, but it will not be guaranteed to you. The Staff will need to maximize the most usage of each site. With over 600 people camping we need your cooperation on this issue. This means every site will contain 2 or more units in them. Our goal is to have at least one Boy Scout Unit per site along with Cub Pack. Wherever possible we will put packs and troops together that from the same town together. Cooking Dishes and other washing must be done in the campsite. There w ill be running water at each site. Proper cleaning of cooking and eating utensils is a must! Improper cleaning and rinsing can make you sick. If you re not comfortable with cooking and cleaning at camp, please buddy up with a troop who does know the proper way. Stoves and lanterns using propane fuel may be used with adult supervision. No liquid fuels to start cooking fires or campfires. Fires Campsites are assigned to assure complete use of campsite space. Fire rings are shared, which can be a fun way to meet people. Fires can only be built in the fire rings, no ground fires outside the fire rings. Do NOT move the fire rings or build new ones. Half Barrels will be available as needed. Do not dig holes for fires or grease pits. NO WOOD IS ALLOWED TO BE BROUGHT INTO CAMP. Do NOT leave fires unattended; when extinguished, it must be cold to touch. Each Unit provides its own fire protection, and fire bucket with water next to the fire. Please make sure your fire is out completely. Leadership Scouts must be under adult supervision at all times. The welfare of the individual Scout is the direct responsibility of the adult leaders and/or parents. It is the leader s responsibility to control the actions of his den, and organize free time activities for their boys. All Scouts and adult leaders should be registered with the Mohegan Council. Check-in Process It is recommended that Units travel to and arrive at camp together. One adult Leader from every Unit must report to the East Lodge once his/her unit is all present in camp. Unit Leaders will need to submit an updated Unit Roster, pay any outstanding fees. You will also pickup other important information you will need for the weekend. Parking/Vehicles There will be NO PARKING allowed in the campsites. There will be designated parking area s that will be within a short walking distance to each site. This policy is not negotiable and towing will be enforced if needed. We need campsites to have accessibility for emergency personnel should the need arise. We will address handicap issues on an individual basis. We discourage the use of vehicles to move through-out camp. Please come prepared to walk around camp. Remember our goal is to make a better connection to the Webelos Scouts to all the adventure that awaits for them in Boy Scouting.
