2 Presentation The Cristalplant Design Contest has now come to its eighth edition. It is promoted by Cristalplant in partnership with Elica, with the aim of locating innovative projects using Cristalplant as base material and inspired by the Elica style. The contest includes two categories:» YOUNG DESIGNERS, including all creative designers born after 01/01/1981. They are invited to design a cooker extractor hood in Cristalplant,» SENIOR DESIGNERS, including all creative designers born before 01/01/1981. They are also invited to design a cooker extractor hood in Cristalplant. The winning projects will be selected and awarded upon final decision of the qualified jury panel elected by the Contest promoters. The prizes for the selected projects shall be awarded during the Milan 55th Salone Internazionale del Mobile, at the Fuorisalone. The selected projects shall be presented to the public and the press during the awards ceremony of 13 April Goal The Cristalplant Design Contest in collaboration with Elica, works toward involving the most eclectic designers on the scene and invite them to express their talent by interpreting Cristalplant as the base material for innovative products and research. How to participate Participation is free and open to creative designers of all nationalities born after 01/01/1981 (YOUNG DESIGNER category) or before 01/01/1981 (SENIOR DESIGNER category) prior to acceptance of the conditions of this Call for Entries. Said conditions include the transfer of the right of reproduction and publication of the projects submitted for the contest s informational and promotional purposes and of the companies involved. Participants shall be admitted to submit multiple projects. Excluded are the winners and receivers of honourable mentions of the previous editions of the Contest, who shall not be admitted, neither individually nor in groups. Projects not selected shall not be published to allow the authors to present and/or use them in other professional contexts.

3 Prize The projects selected upon the jury s final decision shall be presented to the public and the press during the award ceremony. The jury will pick the winner from among the selected projects. The winning author will be entitled to develop the design of a new cooker hood in Cristalplant in collaboration with the Elica Design Center. The decision on the possible manufacture of the product by 2018 will be at the pure discretion of Elica. This shall be a considerable opportunity for visibility for the winner, who will have a chance to work alongside established designers and deal with significant opportunities for professional growth. As per Article 6, paragraph 1, letter A of the Italian Presidential Decree of 26 October 2001, n. 430, the Contest is organised exclusively for the presentation of industrial projects and not considered a prize competition. The expenses related to the production of Cristalplant prototypes and the industrialization thereof shall be borne by Nicos International in recognition of the personal merit of the participants who reached the first rank in the Contest. Sizes and supports Three renderings in.jpg format, 150 dpi resolution and 210x297 mm (A4) in size should be submitted for each project, indicating the same project title indicated in the registration form (as explained on page 3 and 4). Project renderings must be uploaded in the corresponding section of before 29/02/2016. Copyright The intellectual property and copyright of the projects submitted shall remain the responsibility of the individual designers. Projects shall be the exclusive domain of the Contest until 12 April Until that date, therefore, participants shall not publish or disclose the projects presented in any way, shape or form, under penalty of exclusion. Any collaboration that may arise between the designers and the promoter companies shall be regulated separately between the parties. By signing the Contest application form, the participants declare under their own responsibility to be the authors of the projects submitted, as well as the sole holders of the copyright thereof. The participants assume, therefore, all responsibility and liability for any disputes that may arise over the originality of the works and/or the ownership of said rights.
