1 In conjunction with the 15 TH Deepavali Carnival 2016 (18 th -29 th October), Agenda Suria Communication & TouchTronics Entertainment proudly presents AGNI SHOWDOWN 2016: Music video & short Contest. AGNI Creative Content Workshop was initiated by Malaysian Indian Creative Content Council (MICCC) in collaboration with Special Unit Program for Socioeconomic Development of Indian Community (SEDIC) and it was endorsed by Perbadanan Kemajuan Filem Nasional Malaysia (FINAS). The sole purpose of this workshop was to empower the young Indian creative content makers to further push and equip themselves to face the challenges of global competitions. With continuous progress, AGNI is now joining hands with Agenda Suria Communication & TouchTronics Entertainment to organize the Inaugural AGNI SHOWDOWN 2016: Music Video & Short film & Contest. This truly needs a special mention as it would be the first ever contest made for Indian Music Video production in Malaysia. The mission of AGNI SHOWDOWN 2016 is to celebrate and encourage aspiring independent and student filmmakers among the Indian community. Contest period is from 15th August to 7th October It s open to ALL Indian youths whom are interested in the creative content development field and studies. AGNI SHOWDOWN 2016 is a combo/dual contest that features two (02) categories. CATEGORIES 1. Independent Music Video All entries for this category must feature locally produced Tamil songs. Songs featured in Films or TV dramas are NOT acceptable. However Songs featured in Music Albums are acceptable. (with supportive approval letter from Song creator, Album Owner) Song selection can be from ANY genre of music. Submitted Music videos must consist of duration NOT more than 6 minutes. The entries must be independently produced by the directorial team, Singer OR song producer. Music videos created under the banner of Record labels, Production companies, TV stations, Music Albums or corporations are NOT eligible for submission. Music videos submitted by the Independent Directorial team* must be accompanied by a signed acknowledgement/approval letter from the Song producer OR Music Composer. Music videos created/completed after 1st of January 2016 can be submitted for this contest. Music videos will NOT be judged based on song Popularity.

2 2. Independent Tamil Short film All entries created for this category must be based on the theme INSPIRE or HOPE Submitted short films must consist of duration NOT more than 5 minutes. (Inclusive of Intro & End Credits) The short films must be in Tamil Language. ( All short films must have English Subtitles) Applicants must make sure their short films DO NOT express OR promote unhealthy behaviours, social tensions & controversial elements that may disturb the public. Short films must be independently directed & produced by the directorial Team*. Short films created under the banner of production companies, Studios, Record labels or Brand related entities are NOT eligible. Short films created/completed after 1st of January 2016 can be submitted for this contest. * The core Directorial team for Short films/ Music videos can consist of the following personnel: Assistant Director, Cinematographer, Editor, Director, Executive Producer & Producer. Submission can be made by any one of the team members of the Directorial Team. AWARDS Ø Independent Tamil Short Film category 1. GRAND PRIZE RM10,000 + gift hampers + Trophy & Certificate 2. BRONZE MEDAL RM3,000 + gift hampers + Trophy & Certificate All awards will be presented during the Agenda Suria Communication s 15 TH Deepavali Carnival 2016, at Bukit Jalil (26th October 2016, 7pm onwards). The Prize Packs on offer in the Contest, in full or in part, are non-transferable, non-negotiable & non-refundable. AGNI Showdown 2016 reserves the right to award further Prizes or Prize Packs to winners, or to alter the content of any Prize Pack noted above in whole or in part at any time, whether by adding or removing Prizes. Any changes in the Prizes or the content of the Prize Packs shall be notified by AGNI Showdown 2016 from time to time as the case may be. 3 AGNI SHOWDOWN 2016 TERMS AND CONDITIONS ELIGIBILITY AGNI Showdown 2016 is a juried contest. Open to ALL Malaysian Indian young filmmakers or Creative field students. Aged 18 (born 1998)- 30 (born 1986). Short films and Music videos created after 1 st January 2016 can be submitted for the contest. All qualified entries must be independently produced by the directorial team. Films and videos produced, financed or developed by production houses, corporations and third party Individuals are NOT eligible for this contest. All applicants must be the original creators (directorial team) of the submitted materials and NO representatives OR on-behalf personnel should apply. Short films and music videos which have won OR currently under nomination for other short film contests or festivals are NOT eligible for submission. By entering the contest, applicants hereby warrant that all information (entry form) submitted is true, current and complete. Any applicants who have supplied incomplete, inaccurate or fraudulent information may be automatically disqualified. AGNI Showdown 2016 reserves the right to disqualify any applicants if AGNI Showdown 2016 has reasonable grounds to believe that an applicant has breached any of these terms and conditions or has tampered with the Contest process. SUBMISSIONS Films and music videos can be submitted to AGNI Showdown 2016 either directly by postal OR deliver by hand OR transferred digitally via WeTransfer. Full HD format (1920 x 1080 resolution), 25 fps ( PAL format) Progressive/ Interlaced, Audio: 48kHz 16-bit Stereo Submission materials must be in either one of the following formats with a file size of NOT larger than 500mb ü Mpeg video file (.mpg) ü QuickTime (.mov) ü H264 encoded MP4 (.mp4) i) Postal guideline ü To submit your film / music video as a DVD (data files*) OR Pendrive, please post your 2 x Data DVD OR 1 x Pendrive in a bubble-pack envelope along with the Signed & Completed entry form to the following address: Agenda Suria Communication Head office 198, 3rd Floor, Jalan Tun Sambathan Kuala Lumpur, Malaysia ü Receipt of your entry will be acknowledged by to the address stated on your entry form. Posted materials should reach our address no later than 7th October 2016 (before 5pm). ü Multiple file submissions can be included in DVD/ Pendrive with separate entry forms for each submission. ü Any postal delays caused by courier companies are sole responsibility of the contestants and special request for exemptions will NOT be entertained.

4 ü Applicants must make sure that the Data files burned in the DVDs are meant for computer usage and in perfect workable condition. ü We do NOT accept Blu-ray discs, Compact Discs OR Portable Hard disks. ü Pendrive & DVD submitted by applicant is NOT returnable. ii) Walk-in / Hand Delivery ü Walk in submissions of your film / music video can be made from 10am till 5pm (on weekdays only) at our ASC s office till 7th October 2016 (Friday). ü Please bring copies of your film/music video in DVD copies (02) or in a Pendrive (01) on formats mentioned above along with the duly completed entry forms. i) WeTransfer Guidelines ü To transfer your film/music video online, please visit ü Follow the instructions as stated in the WeTransfer box. ü Please your WeTransfer files to : agnishowdown@gmail.com ü You can upload multiple files at a time in the formats of Mpeg./QuickTime./H264. /MP4 ü Please upload the duly completed entry form for each submission. ü You will receive an automatic confirming that your file has been successfully transferred. Incomplete, indecipherable or illegible entries will be deemed INVALID. Applicants bear all responsibility to ensure that their entry is complete and legible, and that their Short Film/ Music Video is submitted in the correct format and clearly visible and audible. Applicants will bear all the costs & procedures involved in the submission process. DEADLINES The deadline for all DVD/Pendrive entries, WeTransfer uploads and walk in submissions for the AGNI Showdown 2016 is on 7 th October 2016 (Friday), no later than 5pm. Late submissions and request for time extensions strictly will NOT be entertained.

5 JUDGING There will be a preliminary selection by the AGNI Showdown 2016 Selection Committee for eligibility. All qualified entries (by category) will be privately screened to the three (03) Official Juries of the contest. Credible Juries from the local Film Industry will independently hand pick top three (03) winners from each category of the contest. Juries decision is deemed final. A People s Choice Award will be given based on public voting for the popular video / film via our official social media platforms. One Applicant will be chosen as the winner for each category. The same Applicant may be chosen as winner of two or more of the categories in the contest. Top 10 Nominees (each category) will be notified via and phone calls respectively. Short films/ Music videos will be judged based on the following criteria: ü Creativity (How original it is): This includes the creative use visual & Audio medium to deliver the content /message. (30% of the objective mark) ü Cinematography (How it looks): This includes the overall quality of the visual components; shots, compositions, color tones & cinematic experience. (20% of the objective mark) ü Editing (How it s put together): This includes the technical aspects of the video, including technical execution of special effects, cutting, fading, and pacing of the images to the music. (20% of the objective mark) ü Artistic Vision (Was there a message) this is an assessment of the boldness and clarity of the editor s vision or theme. It also includes the mood and atmosphere created by the audio and visual selections and the visceral impact it has on the audience, good or bad. (30% of the objective mark) ü Judges Choice: This is the most subjective of the criteria - how well the judges like the video. (Not included in the objective mark) AUTHORIZATION By signing the entry form, the contestants give AGNI Showdown 2016 the permission to use all submitted video materials in any and all forms of media for the express purpose of the contest promotion and publicity. However, AGNI Showdown 2016 will not authorize television broadcast of any footage without the direct consent of the filmmaker and/or producers. The organizer reserves the right to cancel OR amend the contest and these terms and conditions without prior notice. Any changes to the contest will be notified to applicants as soon as possible by the organizer. By entering this contest, an applicant is indicating his/her agreement to be bound by these terms and conditions.
