1 Technical Information TI 0 N/08/en/0.0 Analogue Transmitter AT-000 Tank gauge transmitter for analogue (-0mA output) level transmission Introducion The AT-000 series transmitter is designed to attach to the LT-LTC series level gauge. One of its main functions is to convert the level gauge s signals into voltage and electric current. Since this model has a number of output signals, it has an extensive connection compatibility with wide range of level setting devices. Also, the alarm and adjustment contact signals are equipped with up to six points, so that it enables the operator to direct the valves and pumps with this transmitter alone. This transmitter will enhance the capacity of your level gauge by enabling you to operate the device from remote locations. Main Applications The AT-000 series transmitter can be utilized in wide range of industries. Dependability of this device is tested and proven over the years by varieties of use. Its application possibility includes: water tanks, oil depots, chemical solvent storage tanks, petroleum refineries, foods, paints, organic chemicals and the likes. 2 Analogue Transmitter Operation Principle Remote signal is produced by the rotation angle of the brush on the potentiometer as indicated in figure. Hence, the brush rotation corresponds to the tank level. As a result, the resistance value is determined and transmitted based on the position that is indicated by the brush. Resistor Displacement from the tank gauge Also, it is possible to apply a direct current to this potentiometer as seen in figure. It outputs the signals as direct current or direct voltage. Brush Fig. () Figure shows the transmitter operating principle. The drive shaft is connected to the tank level gauge via the coupling. Adjust one or more cam wheels () and a potentiometer (7) via a reduction gear (). The cam wheels () actuate the microswitches according to the limiting values set. The switching conditions generated are subsequently processed as high/ low level information. Any change in resistance can be picked up by the potentiometer slider as analogue information which is accessible either directly or via an R/I converter. The R/I converter converts the change in resistance into a proportional current.
