Operating System (Windows ) *requires higher hardware specification than listed above. Please see the manufacturers website for further information. Windows XP Professional SP3* (see note below) Windows 2000 Professional Edition SP4 Windows 2000 Server Edition SP4 Windows 2000 Advanced Edition SP4 Windows 2000 Datacenter Server Edition SP4 Windows 2003 SP2 Windows 2003 Enterprise Edition SP2 Windows 2003 Datacenter Edition SP2 Windows Small Business Server 2003 Standard Edition SP2 Windows Small Business Server 2003 Premium Edition SP2 Windows Vista Business SP1* Windows Vista Ultimate SP1* Windows Server 2008 Standard* Windows Server 2008 Enterprise* Windows Server 2008 Datacenter* Windows XP Professional SP3 If you are trying to install SQL Server 2005 Express edition in Windows XP SP3 environment, it will most likely fail. Uninstall MSXML6 SP2, by using a Windows Installer Cleanup Utility (msicuu2.exe). This can be downloaded from various sites on the Internet (search for msicuu2.exe download ). In Windows XP SP3, MSXML files were added to Windows File Protection. These files are installed as part of Halcyon which uses SQL Express 2005 as the back-end database for Enterprise Console. -4 Enterprise Console Installation Guide
5 When you attempt to install an English version of SQL 2005 or SQL 2008 on a localized non-english version of Windows XP with Service Pack 3, the following error occurs because SQL setup tries to install the file msxml6r.dll with the same version in the English language. Error 1931: The Windows Installer service cannot update the system file C:\WINDOWS\system32\msxml6r.dll because the file is protected by Windows. You may need to update your operating system for this program to work correctly. For production mode, it is recommended that Enterprise Console is installed on Windows Server 2003 SP2 or above which can be either a physical or virtual machine. For testing purposes the product will install to XP Pro SP2 as well as Vista or Windows 7 with User Account Control (UAC) disabled. GSM data terminal A SIM card is required for the GSM data terminal. Please order the GSM data terminal from Halcyon Software and contact your external suppliers for a suitable SIM card. -5
