5 How support Foyers professional education? offer a place to live save and good living conditions young people could concentrate on their professional education or vocational training not so many activities which draw off the attention learning in peer group young people have a better chance to finish their education Foyers support young people by solving several problems Foyers have a network of supporters for young people

7 How support Foyers mobility? more than Foyer, with more than 100,000 beds in different kinds of cities, big and small, many or less industries Foyers support the youngster by arriving in a new town and get to know the way of life many Foyers have residents of several European and non-european countries have contacts to companies and support young people by finding a place for internship some are connected with vocational training institutes

10 Foyers in Europe Germany: 558 Foyers 200,000 young people used Foyers in 2007 main resistant group professional education vocational training about 20% NEED (not in education, employment or training) people Foyers have to accredit by the local Youth office finance structure: public support for young people self-paying by young people

11 Foyers in Europe United Kingdom: 135 Foyers every year 10,000 young people use Foyers main resistant group over 75% NEET people when these youngster leave the Foyer, they are in trainings or in a job Foyers have to accredit under the FISH (Foyer Independence Support Home) Finance structure: public housing support grants for training funding

12 Foyers in Europe France: 330 Foyers every year 90,000 young use Foyers Main resistant group: 90% are working or in a working program 10% are NEET s finance structure young people for the rent national and local funds

15 Network of European Foyers European Network of Foyers founded at the 1 st European Symposium of Foyers in Munich (November 2010) Foyers and umbrella groups from 4 countries took part build a cooperation to strengthen Foyers in Europe consultation on a new EU-Youth programme strengthen mobility of young people, even with fewer opportunities housing is often a problem for a going abroad Foyers offers a lot to support professional education mobility in Europe Parliamentarian question on professional education mobility to the European Commission 4 Members of the European Parliament ask the European Commission about the knowledge of Foyers in Europe answer: Europe know nothing about Foyers
