EEC EXPERIENCE At present, (In this period) together with UNI and ISFQ he is making a CD-ROM sponsored by the DG III of the European Commission, entitled: MULTICOMMEDIA commentary and communication service on the CE MARK AND THE IMPORTANCE OF THE EN NORMS. - In 1998 he collaborated with the D.E.Ca Group Consortium to the draft of a handbook: "Behavioural Guidelines with reference to New and Second-hand Machines". This handbook as some international magazines of the sector like "Food Engineering" and "Marble Machines" said- was to be considered an operative instrument for machine sellers, repairers, modifiers and manufacturers in which are listed Harmonized Norms, reference of Notify Body and examples of interventions on new and second-hand machines with reference to the D.Lgs. 626/94 and D.P.R. 459/96 (Annex 22). During the "HIGHTECHNOLOGIES" Fair in Erba, he was speaker at the meeting on "Mechanical Risk Evaluation during the design and during the use and modification of second-hand machines" organized by ISFOP (Annex 38). - In November and December 1998 for ISFOP, he held training, information and thorough analysis courses on work safety, hygiene and environment and he also held specialization courses for the new working figures introduced by the D.Lgs. 494/96 (Annex 39) Training courses: - In January 1997 he held a course together with UCIMU on Machine Safety at Union of Parma Manufacturers (Annex 16). - In 1997 he held a series of training courses on Risk Analysis, Technical File and Safety Designing of pneumatic-oil pressure systems for COBEST, a UCIMU member (Annex 18). He wrote various articles for magazines like "Organo del Fiasa", "Notizie, Sicurezza e Ambiente", "Industrie Alimentari" and "Il Giornale dell'ingegnere" (Annexes 17bis-18bis-19-19bis), and he is also in the Scientific Committee of the monthly "ISL-Igiene e Sicurezza del Lavoro" (Annex 21). 15 EEC EXPERIENCE Mr Ippolito together with Mr Beretta Ambrogio of the Q&S firm, associated to the D.E.Ca Group, started a synergistic cooperation for what it concerned Medical Devices in accordance with the 93/42/CEE directive, and its Harmonized Norms. In the same period he is Italian delegate in the CEN TC CEN/TC 55 - dental - He supervised firms which produce installations for odontotechical, deontological, inhalation therapy andsurgical instrument sector under the aspect of the product and Quality Systemconformity. He also held training courses for Artisan Associations with regard to the necessary fulfilments for the devices made to measure produced by the dental technicians in conformity with the Medical Device Directive. - In June 97 he held a two day course on CE Mark for CEGOS (TRAINING AND COUNSULTING Multinational Corporation). 16 He has been a consultant for an "Association of Artisan firms" in rgard to Machine Directive since November In November 1996 he held a Risk Analysis Course for Siemens Automotive at Bias Fair. On 12 th December 1996 he held a course at AIAS Training courses: - On 9 th March 1995 he held a seminar as an AIAS member (Annex 11). - In May 1995 he held a seminar at the "Union of Udine Manufacturers" on Risk Analysis according to Machine Directive. He has been a product inspector for ICIM (Italian Institute for Certification of Mechanical Industry) since November 1993 (Annex 8). As a consultant he held courses and gave specific technical advice for Machine Directive on Technical File and Risk Analysis both on Food Machinery and Plastic, Steel, Marble and Granite Machinery fields. 17 industry, giving lessons on machine safety for three half days (Annex 10); In June 1994 he held a seminar at the Union of Parma Manufacturers for the enforcement of the Machine Directive for the Food Industry Installations (Annex 9); - Always in June 1994, he gave to quality managers within a course held by CISITA ( the training sector of Union of Parma Manufacturers); - In April 1994 he became machine safety consultant for UCIMU (Italian Union of Machine Tool Manufacturers); - In April and May 1994 he held seminars at Trento and Vicenza Unions of Manufacturers for the manufacturer's fulfilments in the draft of the Technical File. - In June 1994 he became D.E.Ca Group collaborator. The Group deals with technical documentation and has its headquarters in Ravenna with branches in Milan, Genoa, Reggio Emilia and Naples; - In October 1994 he held a seminar on Machine Directive at AIAS (Italian Association of Safety Administrators). Nome e indirizzo del datore di lavoro WORK EXPERIENCE : - From 22 nd October 1987 to September 1991 he worked for Gherri Gino (Machinery for the Meat and Vegetable Industry). - In addition to being in charge of Customer Assistance from the date of his engagement, from October 1988 he started organising the Testing Department for the Quality System. 19 directions in the safety field and the automatism of the Packaging-machinery lines; - He has coordinated, as a quality responsible, the teams of technicians for the installation, testing and maintenance of the machinery for the customers; - He has started to make machinery for the national and international markets compatible with the National and International Safety Standards (i.e. UNI, DIN, CEN). - To verify the non-conformity to these standards, some researches on current EN normative were carried out. - He also carried out studies on the most common work place accidents and he set up a system for the laboratory simulation of dangerous conditions. EEC EXPERIENCE In February 1989, as an expert in the food industry sector, he entered the UNI commission which deals with Food Machinery Hygiene and Safety. In June 1989 he was elected working group coordinator and became the Italian delegate to the CEN TC 153 WG2 (Annexes 3 and 3.1). CEN TC 153 is the Technical Committee of CEN (European Committee for Standardisation) which deals with Food Industry Machinery. The duty of the Working-Group National Co-ordinator (WG2 deals with the meat processing machinery) is to take to the TC the result of national surveys about provisions on Machinery and Installation Hygiene and Safety. These surveys are carried out coordinating the Meeting-Groups with the Technical Directors of the multinational and national firms of the sector. Pagina 19 - Curriculum vitae di

20 The results are then compared with the experience of the various European Delegates, in order to elaborate Harmonized European Norms which can be issued in the European Community Official Journal. This activity continued after September 1991 as a free lance. From June 1993 to January 1995 he became the convenor of CEN TC 153 WG3 (which deals with slicing machines). From that date he was no more the WG2 convenor. 1986: He collaborated with the Mandelli S.P.A. Company in Piacenza and with the Albertini firm for the production of a prototype of a glass mould (Annex 2). - From June 1986 to September 1987 he was employed by the Nilma S.P.A. firm (a firm working in the field of Special Catering Machinery) in charge of customer assistance.in this context he undertook a technical and commercial type of activity and he carried out studies on the safety system of gas, water and electrical apparatus. - He collaborated to the setting up of a new combustion chamber and to the program development for the analysis of machines safety.
