1 Magic of Machu Picchu Ride Eight Days/Seven Nights Day 1 Upon arrival at Cusco airport, we are picked up and transferred to our chosen hotel. There we spend the rest of the day relaxing and acclimatizing to the altitude. Later on, an MLP guide gives a briefing, going over the trip to come and some safety tips to consider during the ride. We spend the night at the hotel. Day 2 We are picked up from the hotel at 7am for the ten minute drive to the nearby Inca ruins of Sacsayhuaman (3600 meters above sea level) where we meet our horses and wranglers. After a short familiarization period we begin the four hour ride to the Inca/Colonial town of Chinchero (3700 meters). At Chinchero a minivan picks us up and transfers us to the Urubamba Boutique Lodge (a thirty minute drive) where we spend a comfortable night on the banks of the Urubamba River. Non-rider activity: Tour of Sacsayhuaman Day 3 Technical Description: We are picked up from the hotel at 7am for the three hour drive through the mountains to the colonial town of Mollepata and the Coronilla Ranch (2850 meters above sea level). On the way we see mountain peaks such as Veronica (5900 meters) and Salkantay (6280 meters). Upon arrival at Coronilla we meet our horses and then begin our four hour ride to the Salkantay Lodge and Adventure Resort, located at Soraypampa (3800 meters). Riding Hours: Approx. four hours Type of Terrain: Open roads, some steep ascending trails Type of Riding: Walk, trot, canter, gallop Note: Lunch is a picnic lunch en route. Non-rider activity: Cusco City Tour followed by vehicle transfer to the lodge.

2 Day 4 Today we ride out for three hours in the surrounding area of Soraypampa to visit the Humantay Lake, fed by glaciers far above on the slopes of Humantay. A short walk of about thirty minutes is necessary in order to reach the lake, but the view is well worth it and those brave enough can go for a swim. We return to the lodge for lunch, after which we have the option to ride out again for around three hours in the surrounding area. We spend the night at the Salkantay Lodge and Adventure Resort with gourmet food and warm, comfortable beds. Technical Description: Riding Hours: Approx. three hours Type of Terrain: Open roads, some steep ascending trails and open fields Type of Riding: Walk, trot, canter Non-rider activity: Hike to Humantay Lake Day 5 This morning we begin the four hour ride back to the Coronilla Ranch, where we are greeted with a typical Peruvian meal, a Pachamanca. This traditional meal is famous for its cooking method which consists of layering meat with hot stones and then covering the whole thing up to bake. After observing the uncovering of the Pachamanca, which consists of a variety of meats (chicken, lamb, beef, pork and guinea pig) and vegetables (potatoes, sweet potatoes and yucca) we enjoy our meal. Afterwards, we are driven back towards Urubamba, but this time we continue on to the Inca town of Ollantaytambo where we spend the night. Technical Description: Riding Hours: Approx. four hours Type of Terrain: Open roads, some steep ascending trails Type of Riding: Walk, trot, canter, gallop Non-riders transferred by vehicle to Coronilla Day 6 Today we take the morning train from Ollantaytambo to the town of Aguas Calientes, a journey of about one hour and forty-five minutes. Here we have lunch and then take a thirty-minute bus ride up to the archeological site of Machu Picchu for a private guided tour. The tour takes around two to three hours and we then have some time to explore on our own before taking the bus back down to Aguas Calientes for the night.

3 Day 7 Today we have the option of a second visit to Machu Picchu (additional charges apply) or we can enjoy the additional services offered by the Inkaterra Hotel: nature walks (orchids and wildlife), spa treatments and yoga classes, to name just a few. In the afternoon we return to Cusco via the Vistadome train. We have the evening to spend as we wish and stay the night in Cusco. Day 8 This is the last day of our trip. After breakfast we are transferred to Cusco airport for our flight back to Lima.

Mountain Lodges of Peru cannot confirm availability for hotels, flight or various services until confirmation from the client has been received and an initial deposit of 20% of the trip cost has been accepted. Full payment will be required 60 days prior to arrival.

5 ADDITIONAL INFORMATION 1) MLP requires the guest to forward his/hers Medical and Dietary Restrictions in accordance to our policies. Please fill out the corresponding administrative forms that will be given. 2) MLP requires that all guests give their passport details in advance to the trip in order to coordinate all transportation services and hotel reservations. All horses are picked from a pre-selected pool especially for each trip, according to their level of fitness at the time. 2) Saddles: MLP offers our guests two different types of saddles: a) Uruguayan Endurance Saddles: assimilates an English-type; leather b) American Endurance Saddles: assimilates to Western-type; synthetic 3) Level of difficulty: Intermediate to advanced. Beginners are welcome but they will have a different type of horse and have direct assistance from horseman. 4) Safety: MLP strongly recommends the use of safety equipment such as helmets and back protectors on this ride. Helmets, chaps and back protectors can be rented at the beginning of the ride, subject to availability. Please notify us in advance if you wish to rent any such equipment as we can add the cost to your invoice. If you decide to use the equipment at short notice or on the day of the ride, the cost can be added to your spending at the lodges and added to your final bill, payable at the last lodge. Note 1.- Our horses are especially trained for high altitudes and rugged terrains. Note 2.- Our horses are fitted with booties to protect their extremities. Note 3.- MLP takes replacement or back-up horses on every trip.

6 MLP TIPPING GUIDELINES At Mountain Lodges of Peru, although THANK YOU is always enough to put a big smile on our employees faces, we encourage tipping as one of many other ways to reward that extra effort put into every days work. Most of our employees not to say all! are locals who have only just been introduced into the tourism industry. As you will see in their eyes and in the pride they put into every single task they accomplish, they all share a will to progress and a passion for personal and professional excellence. The following are ONLY GUIDELINES and should not be interpreted as mandatory or maximum or minimums in any case. This is meant to guide you, should you decide to reward any of our employees with a gratuity. 1) US$ 5.00 PER PERSON PER NIGHT FOR HOSPITALITY IN THE LODGES TOTAL (5 nights) = US$ 25.00/PAX. As agreed by all Hospitality Employees, this tip is evenly distributed amongst all. 2) US$ PER PERSON FOR SERVICES DURING THE TREK This is distributed amongst the trek service personnel (cooks, assistant cooks, wranglers, porters, assistant guides). 3) MAIN GUIDES TIPS We suggest US$ 5.00 per person per day for guide services. 4) SPECIAL TIPS You are also welcome to tip a specific member of the staff if you feel that you have been cared for extraordinarily by one person. In a regular trip (as described in the itinerary presented) the total recommended tips add up to US$90.00 per person. This amount or the amount you consider appropriate may be handed to the guide at the start of the trip and he-she will take care of distributing this during the trip, making sure to let the staff know of the gesture. We always recommend that guests carry Peruvian Soles or US Dollars in bills of small denomination on the trip for tipping purposes. Please inquire with us if you would like your tips to be charged to your account (credit card) automatically after the trip or before the trip.
