It is the celebration of the resurrection of Jesus Christ, his return to life after he was crucified on the cross. Easter Sunday falls on the first Sunday after the first full moon after March 21. It is the first full moon of spring in the northern hemisphere. Most people in the Western part of the world celebrate Easter sometime between the beginning of spring and the end of April.
