2 Architect and town planner. He is an expert in historical centre planning, urban and architectural conservation and restoration, public space and landscape planning. Born in Bologna, Italy, in 1942, he studied architecture at Istituto Universitario di Architettura di Venezia (i.e. University Institution of Architecture in Venice), graduating in He now lives and works in Venice. Academic qualification, didactic and research activities Giorgio Lombardi is a Professor of Urban Planning at the Istituto Universitario di Architettura di Venezia; Expert for the Ministry of Public Works in territory planning; Professor of the specialization curse in restoration projecting ICCROM in Rome (since 1980); Professor of the specialisation curse in urban conservation and restoration (PNUD) in Cuzco (Perù, ), in Havana (Cuba, 1985), in Salvador de Bahia (Brazil, ), in Bogotà (Colombia, ), in Alcalà de Henares (Spain, 2001).
