2 CAREER AND PROFESSIONAL ACTIVITIES Andrea Ferraro graduated in Architecture at Politecnico di Milano in Studio di Architettura Andrea Ferraro has been working on integrated architecture projects since After years, it has gained extensive experience in residential and industrial building design, developing different scale level projects, from works on single flats to masterplans of entire urban areas. Moreover, the Studio pays particular attention to technological innovation oriented to energy saving and housing comfort. Nowadays, the Studio is composed by Andrea Ferraro Architect firmly joined by 8 professionals (architects and designers): by opportunity occasionally, the team improves of a variable numbers of collaborators. The Studio has designed and realized many industrial and residential buildings. Since years, architecture planning competences are completed by employing a well-established net of specialized consultants and external studies, for structures and technological plants projects. 12 Notes The building has historical and environmental value, so the project had to be valued by the Commission for the Landscape of the Municipality. Overall, the building is near to the track of Ferrovie Nord Milano, inside the limit of 30mt from the railway. The project plans to work at the following levels: second and first underground, then from ground to fifth level. At the two levels underground will be built boxes - it will be possible to enter by a special car-lift system - cellars, technical rooms, besides an office open to an external garden, equipped with reception and hygienic services. At the ground floor a single wide office will be built, wrapped around the stairways and the elevator. At the intermediate levels the works involve all the apartments to an integral restoration and renovation. At the fifth floor, the existing structure is going to be demolished and substituted with a larger and wider one, double-levelled, that s going to resize the terraces. The project has been studied in order to preserve the original aesthetical aspect, concerning as much the finishes as the decorations. Therefore, the windows of the new enlargement keep the same dimensions, the same alignment axes of the openings of the lower floors. According to the environmental constraint, it has been achieved the permission by the Municipality Landscape Commission. As the project modifies the outline and the shape of the building, widening the fifth floor and building a new flat terrace on the roof, completed with two greenhouses, the Municipality required a proper Act of Agreement between the City and the Property
