1 Camp Scoutshire Woods Summer Camp 2016 Program Descriptions Day Camp Brownie/Junior/Cadette, Senior, Ambassador Day Camp, Juniors (Rising 4 th and 5 th Graders), Cadettes (Rising 6 th, 7 th, and 8 th graders), Seniors (Rising 9 th and 10 th graders), Ambassadors (Rising 11 th and 12 th graders) Dates: Session 1: June 13-17, 2016 Brownie: Pixie Dust Junior: Second Star to the Right Cadette/Senior/Ambassador: Second Star to the Right Session 2: June 20-24, 2016 Brownie: Tiger Lily s Tribe Junior: The Lost Girls of Scoutshire Woods Cadette/Senior/Ambassador: The Lost Girls of Scoutshire Woods Price: Entrepreneur Price: $275 Regular/Non-Member Price: $375 Min/Max: 4/13 Welcome to Day Camp! You ll experience all the fun of summer camp--minus the nights away from home. As a Day Camper you ll join in with resident campers of the same age/grade/level for a day of fun. You ll take part in promised programming sessions, go for a dip at the swim dock, work on your paddling at the boat dock, fly down the zip line, make crafts, and shoot at the archery range. Notes: Day Campers arrive after breakfast, eat lunch at camp and leave before dinner. Lunch is provided. Transportation is provided in certain locations. Sampler Programs Brownie Sampler (B) Dates: Session 1: June 12-14, 2016 Session 2: June 19-21, 2016 Price: Entrepreneur Price: $155 Regular/Non-Member Price: $255 If you are a Brownie who wants to try all that camp has to offer, but is a little nervous about staying the entire week, this is the program for you! You ll stay in a cabin, make lots of new friends, and get to do a
2 little of everything, including swimming, boating, zip lining, arts and crafts, songs, games, a campfire, and more! Junior Sampler (J) Dates: Session 1: June 15-17, 2016 Session 2: June 22-24, 2016 Price: Entrepreneur Price: $155 Regular/Non-Member Price: $255 If you are a Junior who wants to try all that camp has to offer, without staying the entire week, this is the program for you! You ll stay in a cabin, make lots of new friends, and get to do a little of everything, including swimming, boating, zip lining, arts and crafts, songs, games, a campfire, and more! Seasonal Themed Programs Pixie Dust (B) All you need is faith, trust, and Pixie Dust! Join us for a magical adventure as you spend a week frolicking with the pixies! You ll earn your wings, receive a unique pixie name, play fairy games, and go on a hike in search of pixie dust. You re even invited to a Pixie party! You and your fellow Pixies will also be able to take a dip at the swim dock, go boating at the boat dock, fly down the zip line, and make pixie-themed crafts. Tiger Lily s Tribe (B) Dates: Session 2: June 19-24, 2016 Get ready to become part of Tiger Lily s Tribe! As a tribe member, you ll explore the natural world around you by wading in the lake with periscopes and seine nets, gazing at the stars, and getting to know the plants and animals at camp. You ll also follow the clues of the rainbow trail to discover Tik Tok the Croc s secret treasure before the pirates do! During the week you ll have a sleep-in breakfast at your tribe s campsite. As part of your adventure, you ll get to take a dip at the swim dock, work on your paddling at the boat dock, fly down the zip line, and make crafts.
3 Second Star to the Right (J) And straight on til morning! Venture out with your fellow night owls in search of excitement! Discover the wonderful world of night creatures by dissecting owl pellets, learning all about bats, and embarking on a twilight hike. Take part in night games and science experiments, and spend an evening searching the night sky for constellations and flying pirate ships. In between all of your fabulous nighttime activities, enjoy a dip at the swim dock, work on your paddling at the boat dock, fly down the zip line, make crafts and practice your archery skills. The Lost Girls of Scoutshire Woods (J) Dates: Session 2: June 19-24, 2016 Join the Lost Girls of Scoutshire Woods for a week of fun, adventure, and mischief! You and your fellow Lost Girls will search for animal tracks, go creek stomping at the Spillway, and lay out under the stars. In true Lost Girls fashion, you ll also stir up a little mischief too. You ll use a catapult to launch water balloons during a water balloon fight, plan a snack raid, hoist your flag up the flag pole without getting caught by Captain Hook, and much more! To top it all off, you ll get to have a sleep in breakfast at the Lost Girl s Hideout once during the week. In addition to all the fun, adventure and mischief you re going to have, you ll also have time to take a dip at the swim dock, work on your paddling at the boat dock, fly down the zip line, make crafts and practice your archery skills. Come join us at Camp Scoutshire Woods for a week of fun excitement and horses! In Pony Tails you ll learn how to feed, groom, ride and guide the horse in the ring (with help from experienced instructors of course). You ll also earn the council s own Brownie badge, Bit and Bridle. When you are not having a blast at the barn, you ll be able to take a dip at the swim dock, work on your paddling at the boat dock, fly down the zip line, and make crafts. Horsemanship (J) Session 2: June 19-24, 2016 Price: Entrepreneur Price: $375 Regular/Non-Member Price: $475 Special Requirements: Interest in Horses/Prior horse experience welcome, but not necessary. You ll be able to groom, feed and saddle your horse with help from experienced

In addition to all the fun you ll have at the barn, you ll be able to take a dip at the swim dock, work on your paddling at the boat dock, fly down the zip line, make crafts, and shoot at the archery range. Trail Masters (C/S/A) Age/Level: Cadettes, Seniors, Ambassadors (Rising 6 th and 12 th graders) Session 2: June 19-24, 2016 Price: Entrepreneur Price: $375 Regular/Non-Member Price: $475 Special Requirements: Interest in Horses/Prior horse experience welcome, but not necessary. Min/Max: 4/8 If you are a Cadette, Senior, or Ambassador and you love horses, then Trail Masters is the program for you! In this program, you ll earn the Trail Masters council s own badge by learn how to care for, saddle and ride a horse. You ll be taught trail riding skills by experienced horseback riding instructors and will explore Camp Scoutshire Woods on horseback. When you re not at the barn, you ll be able to take a dip at the swim dock, work on your paddling at the boat dock, fly down the zip line, make crafts, and shoot at the archery range. Leadership Program Camps Note: Leadership Programs do not run through the weekends. Girls must be checked out on Friday, June 17, 2016 and returned to camp Sunday, June 19, Program Aide (C) Age/Level: Cadettes (Rising 6 th -8 th Graders) Dates: June 12-17, 2016 and June 19-24, 2016 (2 week program) Special Requirements: Must submit a Leadership Program Application. Min/Max: 3/8 Are you a natural born leader? Would you love to help out with programs and activities for younger girls? Then come join us for Program Aide Training! Your first week of camp, you ll learn leadership skills, teamwork, and tips and tricks to leading activities and working with groups of younger girls. During your second week, you ll have the opportunity to gain some hands-on experience. And don t worry, you ll still have time for all the fun camp activities, such as zip lining, arts and crafts, boating, swimming, and archery. Counselor in Training 1 (CIT1) (S/A) Age/Level: Seniors and Ambassadors (Rising 9 th - 12 th graders)
6 Dates: June 12-17, 2016 and June 19-24, 2016 (2-week program) Special Requirements: Must submit a Leadership Program Application. Min/Max: 3/8 Have you ever thought about being a camp counselor? We have a program for you! Counselor- In- Training 1 (CIT 1) is the first step on your road to becoming a future camp counselor! During the first week of this two-week program, you will learn the basics of being a camp counselor, how to work as a team with your fellow CITs, and leadership skills. The second week, you ll have a chance to put your skills into practice by working with younger campers and shadowing counselors. When you re not in training or shadowing, you ll be able to take a dip at the swim dock, work on your paddling at the boat dock, fly down the zip line, make crafts, and shoot at the archery range. Counselor in Training 2 (CIT 2) (S/A) Age/Level: Seniors and Ambassadors (Rising 9 th -12 th graders) Dates: June 12-17, 2016 and June 19-24, 2016 (2-week program) Special Requirements: Must have completed CIT 1 and submit a Leadership Program Application. Min/Max: 3/8 If you ve already completed CIT 1 and loved it, then you ll adore CIT 2! As a CIT 2, you will expand the skills you learned in CIT 1 and gain new ones. In addition to shadowing counselors and helping with younger girls your second week, you'll assist in planning one of the nightly All-Camp activities, and take the lead with other camp activities. When you re not in training, shadowing, or helping with activities, you ll be able to take a dip at the swim dock, work on your paddling at the boat dock, fly down the zip line, make crafts, and shoot at the archery range. Wrangler in Training (WIT) (S/A) Age/Level: Seniors and Ambassadors (Rising 9 th -12 th graders) Dates: June 12-17, 2016 and June 19-24, 2016 (2-week program) Special Requirements: Must have completed CIT 1, have documented experience working with/riding horses, and submit a Leadership Program Application. Min/Max: 2/4 If horses and leadership are your thing, then WIT is the perfect program for you! As a WIT, you will expand the leadership skills you learned in CIT 1 and gain new ones. When you are not honing your leadership skills, you ll be spending time at the barn learning what it takes to be an equestrian counselor. You'll assist in lessons, barn work, and caring for the horses. When you re not in training or at the barn, you ll be able to take a dip at the swim dock, work on your paddling at the boat dock, fly down the zip line, make crafts, and shoot at the archery range.
7 Camp Intern (S/A) Age/Level: 2 nd year Seniors and Ambassadors (Rising 10 th -12 th graders) Dates: June 12-17, 2016 and June 19-24, 2016 (2-week program) Regular/Non-Member Price: N/A Special Requirements: Must have completed CIT 1 and CIT 2, participated in this year s cookie sale, and submit a Leadership Program Application. Min/Max: 2/4 You ve completed CIT 1 and CIT 2, and now you re ready to be a Camp Intern! As a Camp Intern, you ll gain valuable knowledge and work experience that they can apply to other parts of your life. You ll spend your first week fine tuning the skills you learned in CIT 1 and CIT 2 and learn a few more! The next week, you ll put everything you ve learned to the test by shadowing different groups or programs every day. In addition, you ll become stewards of camp s traditions by planning one of the nightly allcamp activities and hosting Closing Campfire on Thursday! Note: Space is limited. Interns will be selected based on their merit and previous program performances.
