ANNE Welcome to the Burton Valley Brownie to Junior Bridging Ceremony. We have three 3 rd grade Brownie Troops that are very excited to become Junior Girl Scouts tonight. My name is Anne Mitchell and I am the leader of Troop I would also like to introduce the other two leaders with us tonight Alexa Jansky, leader of Troop 2240 and Rhonda Andronico, coordinator of Troop We will begin with a flag ceremony. Thank you Troop 1983 I d like to invite Troop 2240 up on the stage. They will tell us the Girl Scout Law. Thank you Troop 2240 ALEXA The troops have worked hard over the last few years being Brownies they have learned so many things. They have learned to make decisions in a group, they have learned to care about their community, they have learned to work as a team, they have learned to care for each other, just to name a few. They have learned so many things and have had a lot of fun doing it. Each troop is going to share something with us tonight that will give us a little idea of what they think Girl Scouts is all about. Troop 2010 is going to read a poem for us. It is called The Way We Affect Others Thank you Troop 2010 Troop 1983 is going to sing The Girl Scout Letter Song

Thank you Troop 1983 Troop 2240 is going to sing 2 special songs for us. Thank you Troop 2240 RHONDA We are here tonight because these girls are bridging to Junior Girl Scouts. As a Brownie they were able to try new things, learn about their community and work together as a group. As a Junior they will begin to become involved in the leadership of their troop - planning what their troops do and how they do it, they will earn badges in which they have become proficient in a particular skill and they will expand their horizons looking for ways to help others, both in Lafayette and beyond. Tonight they will receive their Girl Scout pin this pin is worn by all Girl Scouts from Juniors to adults. Their Girl Scout pin will be presented to them pinned upside down. Once they have done 3 good deed their parents can turn the pin right side up for them. The Girl Scout slogan is to do a good turn daily and this will remind them every time they look at their pin. They will also receive their Brownie wings, which all Brownies receive when they flyup to Juniors, and their bridging badge, which each troop earned over the last few months as they learned about Juniors. I would like to invite Troop 2010 to come forward. I will present each girl with their pins, wings and badge. Troop 2010 you may be seated. I would like to invite Troop 2240 to come forward. Their leader, Alexa Jansky will present each girl with their pins, wings and badge. Troop 2240 you may be seated.

I would like to invite Troop 1983 to come forward. Their leader, Anne Mitchell will present each girl with their pins, wings and badge. Troop 1983 you may be seated. 3 of us read poem Take My Hand in Friendship ANNE We will now retire the colors. Thank you Troop Before we adjourn to enjoy some cookies and lemonade. I would like to ask the families to assist in our clean up effort. In about 15 minutes Alexa will take the microphone and ask for assistance in putting away the chairs. We will have adults stationed at the front putting the chairs on the carts what we need everyone to help us with is to carry 1 or 2 chairs up to the adults and hand them to adults to be put away. Thank you for joining us tonight.

BRIDGING: (Girls in line on right hand side of the stage) Leader: Leader: Brownies, you are just about To become Junior Girl Scouts. Next year you will find that Junior Scouts are true and kind. So now I give you Brownie Wings so you may fly to bigger things. Call girl s name Girl go to beginning of bridge take off Brownie Vest put in pile on the floor Girl cross bridge Leader pin GS pin on girl (upside down) Shake hands Give wings and bridging badge. Girl stand on left side of the stage When all girls are done: Leaders: Let s welcome our new Junior Girl Scouts with a round of applause.

Take My Hand in Friendship Take my hand in friendship I give to you this day; Remember all the good times We ve had along the way. Take my hand in helping, Other people that we know; The more we give to others, The more that we will grow. Take my hand in learning, To camp on nature s ground; Enjoying trails and campfires, With new friends that we have found. Take my hand in giving, Our knowledge of true scouts; To girls we meet and talk to, Who have so many doubts. Take my hand in thanking, Our leader and our guide; With sincere appreciation, For standing by our side. Take my hand in eagerness, To be an older scout; We re proud to be bridging, Is what we re going to shout. So take my hand to follow, New scouting paths in sight; We re joining hands with each, And in friendship we ll unite. We give our hands in promise, To hold our country dear; And abide by the Girl Scout Law, Each day throughout the year.
