1 Welcome to the NZ Music Month Secondary School WebQuest for 2016! This WebQuest is designed to get your students using their research skills, recognizing contextual clues and putting multiple sources of information to get the answer. We hope they (and you!) find it a fun and challenging learning experience discovering artists, songs and events past and present. It s great as a class or house competition. You can do the WebQuest all in one day or space out the questions throughout the month. Any of the categories or questions can be a jumping off point for further inquiry, whether about using online resources, historical events like the Springbok Tour or current issues like internet surveillance. You can also challenge your students to write their own questions or create new categories. NZ Music Month Secondary School WebQuest 2016 NZ Music on the Web Match the website with what you can do there! 1. Find playlists of songs only by New Zealand artists, organized by genre, like hip-hop, electronic and pop. 2. Look up a band or artist s name and learn about their life and music. 3. Watch music videos and historical recordings of music on television, along with movies and documentaries. 4. Learn about live music performances all over New Zealand happening in the month of May. 5. Learn about musicians who have received a very special award.
