1 NEWSLETTER Happy Holidays, Eagles It s the December holiday season with all that goes with it. Whether you re shopping, visiting or stressing - remember to head in to your club to visit and relax. Our kitchen is done and cooking, so you ll definitely want to pop in to see who s cooking what and when. Since the kitchen is new, the most up-to-date info is on the master calendar in the social room. We re open Christmas Eve from 2pm til 8pm (or maybe a bit later), closed Christmas Day. New Years Eve we have a party planned with live music - details forthcoming. WORTHY PRESIDENT S MESSAGE Brothers and Sisters, Happy Holiday season to you all! At long last our kitchen is finally finished. We are now determining what days we will offer food and what our menu will be. Any suggestions? We are looking at steaks on Fridays and a brunch on Sundays to start with, then expand from there. We will also be looking for some kitchen volunteers. A big thanks to those folks who came to our kitchen work party on Nov 25th. We got a lot accomplished! We will be having a painting party in the near future to get our meeting room downstairs ready for potential rentals. We still have a list of to do's for the Christmas Eagle (this looks Photoshoped huh?) Aerie, we have a short work party on Sundays from 1-3pm to try & shorten that list. Come help out! Looking for a member(s) with cabinet making skills to refurbish our stations in the meeting room. Another milestone passed... we paid off the pool table! Huge thanks to Chuck & Patty Welsh, Sherry Vincent & Darin Nelson for creating those delicious jello shots to raise money for the pool table. Now the efforts will be towards getting a shuffle board table. Come to the Social Room & do the Shuffleboard Shake! Hope to see you all down at the club over the holidays! 2 MADAM PRESIDENT S MESSAGE To all my sisters, Hope you all have a happy and safe holiday. I would like to thank all the Sisters that came to the meetings and helped the auxiliary so far this year - even if it was not much it helps. Thank you all again and have a happy and safe holiday. Suzanna Roy, Madam President BOARD OF TRUSTEES MESSAGE The kitchen is done! Now we need hungry bodies! Please, please check the calendar and board at the Aerie! The Auxiliary is starting Thursday December 6th for their monthly (for now) money raiser for their charities. The menu will be chicken fried steak! Show your support! Anyone who thinks they can cook a GOOD DISH should volunteer and raise money for the Aerie or a charity of their choice. This is a support division of our Aerie! The Aerie will be having a New Years Eve party and dance. We all request that you be there! I believe dinner and dance is planned. The price hasn t been determined yet but it will be good! Every one please remember that on Feb. 2nd, 2013 Aerie # 1 and all Eagles will be celebrating our 115th birthday. We will have visitors from the Grand Aerie and Auxiliary and the State President and Madam State President. Anyone willing to help with the decorating set up or preparing the meal is requested to contact Marc Eisberner ( ). The reservation request form is in this newsletter or can be picked up at the Aerie. Let s all show our support! Thank you to everyone who rolled the dice to help pay for the pool table! We are going to continue it to raise money for the shuffle board now so now you continue to roll them bones! Totally for the Members, Your Board of Trustees BREW CREW UPDATE Hope the members are enjoying the taps. It s the holiday season, so you ll want to enjoy the winter beers we re rotating on including the Snow Day from New Belguim brewing. For IPA s we have a local favorite - Two Beers Evolution IPA in addition to our Georgetown 9lb Porter, the Guinness Stout and the Spire Mountain cider and Stella Artois. Of course we still have the perennial favorites of PBR, Bud Light, Miller Lite and Manny s. UPDATE: POOL TABLE PAID FOR! Yes, the pool table is finally paid off. Thanks to everyone who has donated, bought Jello shots or just played it (and paid to play). Come on in, grab a beverage and rack `em up. Next up, we re saving for a shuffle board. We ll keep most of the proceeds from pool games for the shuffleboard as well as the roll in order to get the required funds. LADIES AUXILIARY COOKING THURSDAYS The Ladies Auxiliary will be cooking on the first Thursday night of each month so please check the Aerie 1 Facebook page for menu or call the office to see what cooking.! 3 AERIE SECRETARY MESSAGE Meeting and Membership You do not need and invitation to come to an Aerie meeting. The Aerie has their meeting on the first and third Wednesday night of the month at 7 PM. Please come and see what our meetings are about. We have been busy in the office, so please let us know if you have not gotten you membership card that you have paid for. We may have missed some. Please check your card for expiration date to renew your dues. January 31, 2013 dues reminder will be going out soon; try to pay your dues before the expiration time. Remember you can give more than once. Then you can put a Christmas tree ornament on the tree we like to see it over flowing with ornaments. STEAK DINNER We re serving up a 6oz New York steak dinner Friday Dec 7th from 6pm til they re gone. It s the first steak dinner night at the new Aerie 1 location, so make sure you come in for this one. Sides included - $14. LET S HAVE A PARTY! Ever drink a Tom & Jerry or Hot Buttered Rum? They re fantastic and on Friday Dec 14th we re having a party Tom and Jerry s and Hot Buttered Rum drinks. It s 6pm until they re gone, and they go quick!! PAGE 3

February 2 nd, 2013 The event will be at our new Aerie home located at 8201 Lake City Way in Seattle, WA Social hour is 5:00PM to 6:00PM - Dinner with a program to follow. Menu for the evening will a beef dish or baked chicken for $20.00 per person. NOTE: Menu is subject to change! There will be a silent auction, a 50/50 raffle and desert auction during the evening with proceeds going to the charities. FIRST COME, FIRST SERVED.
