1 Company Overview HealthCare Partners Nevada is a physician-run, patient-focused health care provider founded in 1996 by Dr. Sherif Abdou and Dr. Amir Bacchus. Originally known as Summit Medical Group, the practice started with five physicians at three locations. Since that time, the company has significantly expanded its operations, joining forces with Fremont Medical Centers, Sterling Medical Group, Advanced Medical Center, Specialty Medical Center and Las Vegas Solari Hospice Care. Today, HealthCare Partners Nevada s network includes more than 99 primary care locations in Southern Nevada. Collectively, HealthCare Partners Nevada is affiliated with more than 200 primary care providers and 1,700 specialists throughout Las Vegas, North Las Vegas, Henderson, Pahrump and Boulder City. HealthCare Partners Nevada provides an integrated and coordinated medical care model of primary, specialty, urgent care and hospice care services designed to help carefully manage patients health. Abdou, MD, MMM, FACP, FACPE President and CEO Amir Bacchus, MD, MBA Chief Medical Officer Dr. Abdou received his M.D. from Mansoura University School of Medicine, an affiliate of Cairo University, in In 1994, he completed his residency at University Medical Center School of Medicine in Las Vegas, Nevada. He was certified by the American Board of Internal Medicine in 1995 and completed his Masters in Medical Managements from University of Southern California in He is a Diplomat of the American Board of Internal Medicine and a Fellow of both the American College of Physicians and American College of Physician Executives. Dr. Bacchus received his medical degree from Wayne State University School of Medicine in 1993 and completed his residency at St. John Hospital and Medical Center, where he was twice named Resident of the Year. In 2003, Dr. Bacchus received an MBA from the University of Nevada, Las Vegas. He is certified by the American Board of Internal Medicine and is a member of the American Medical Association, Michigan State Medical Society and Wayne County Medical Society. Dr. Bacchus serves on the medical executive committee of Spring Valley Hospital and is a member of the American College of Physicians. He is also a member of the Society of Hospital Medicine and is the founder of the society s Nevada Regional Chapter.
5 Executive Team Bios Sherri Allen, RN, MBA Chief Operating Officer Ms. Allen oversees medical clinic operations, risk management, information and technology, purchasing and facilities, and oversight. Allen received her Bachelor of Science degree in Health Arts from the University of St. Francis, a degree in nursing and an MBA with a concentration in health care. She has more than 25 years of experience in health care, 15 of which have been spent in Southern Nevada. Allen s wealth of experience in operations, strategic planning, performance improvement and staff development, paired with her clinical experience as a nurse, gives her a unique perspective as a health care administrator. Allen has been a leader in patient safety and collaborative policymaking in Nevada and has been involved with drafting patient safety regulations. Todd Lefkowitz, MHA Senior Vice President, Managed Care Operations and Network Development Mr. Lefkowitz oversees all management services organization operations including claims, quality assurance, network, credentialing, provider/benefit plan set up, and utilization management. Prior to joining HealthCare Partners Nevada, Lefkowitz held a number of senior management positions in the Southern Nevada health care and insurance industries. He holds a Bachelor of Science degree in Biology from the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill and a Master of Health Administration degree from Medical College of Virginia / Virginia Commonwealth University. He devotes much of his free time to family, and volunteer work with several community-based non-profit organizations.
6 Executive Team Bios Bard Coats, MD, MBA Senior Vice President of Clinical Operations Dr. Coats received his M.D. at the University of Oklahoma School of Medicine and completed his residency in Internal Medicine at the University of Oklahoma Health Sciences Center. He obtained his Executive MBA at the University of California-Irvine in He is board certified in Internal Medicine and holds licenses in Nevada, California and Arizona. He is a member of the American College of Physician Executives, American College of Physicians, Clark County Medical Society, Nevada State Medical Association and Nevada Association of Managed Care Physicians. Kris Cournoyer, MBA Senior Vice President, Finance Ms. Cournoyer oversees finance, information systems, facilities and billing for HealthCare Partners Nevada. She is a graduate of the University of Nevada, Las Vegas with a Bachelor of Science in Accounting, a Bachelor Science in Finance and a Masters of Business Administration with emphasis in Finance and Marketing. Ms. Cournoyer has 17 years of health care management experience and has held several executive-level positions with high-profile medical groups across Arizona, California and Nevada.
