After weighing, market steers may be divided into weight lots for convenience in judging. 5. Animals Auctioned will not receive premiums. 6. Limit Two market animals may be shown. Sun., Sept. 13 at 6:00 p.m. 1 Replacement heifers must be owned by the exhibitor for a minimum of 150 days prior to the opening of the fair. 2 All replacement heifers must be weighed in on Wednesday, September 3rd, from 6:00-8:00 p.m. 3 Heifers must be between 6 and 24 months of age. 4 Heifers 18 months and over, must be bred. Bred heifers entered in this division must have a mandatory pregnancy confirmation by a veterinarian within 30 days prior to arrival at the fairgrounds, at exhibitor's expense. Proof of pregnancy must be turned in to the Livestock Office on check-in day. 5 Purebred and crossbred heifers will be shown and judged together. 6 All heifers must have proof of Brucellosis vaccination. 7 Brand Inspector's requirements for ownership will be enforced. Brand inspection and bill of sale must be turned in at weigh-in on Wednesday, June A minimum of five entries must be judged in order for a Champion and Reserve Champion to be awarded. 9 Only the top two placing heifers, determined by the judge are eligible to sell in the Jr. Livestock Auction, Limit a total of two sale animals may be entered and shown by an exhibitor (replacement heifers are included). Only in the instance that an exhibitor is awarded both Champion and Reserve Champion, will an exhibitor be allowed to sell two animals. 10 Heifers entered in this division may not be shown in any other breeding divisions or classes, but are allowed in Division 272 Beef Showmanship. All market sheep must be individually owned by the exhibitor for 60 days prior to the opening date of the fair. 2. SEE LOCAL AND STATE RULES THAT PERTAIN TO THIS DIVISION. Market lambs must show lamb s teeth. 3. After weighing, market sheep may be divided into weight lots for convenience in judging. 4. Market lambs must be slick sheared within 10 days of the opening day of the fair (20 tooth goat comb). 5. Animals Auctioned will not receive premiums. 6. Limit Two market animals may be shown at Gold Country Fair. Only one is eligible for auction unless an exhibitor has a Grand Champion and a Reserve Grand Champion market animal. 7. FFA and 4-H Market Lambs will enter separate divisions. Independent exhibitors enter according to exhibitors age. 8. Grand and Reserve Grand Champions will be determined from FFA and 4-H Champions. 9. ALL Market lambs must be slick shorn prior to official weigh-in. Market lambs which have been bred by a Placer County adult breeder Class 1, or a Placer County junior breeder (under 18 years as of January 1, 2015) Class 2; and fed and shown by a 4-H, FFA or Independent exhibitor. 2. Copy of Bill of Sale MUST accompany entry form. If animal is bred by the exhibitor a letter stating this will take place of a bill of sale. 3. Market Lambs 110 lbs. and over, entered and shown in Market Lamb Division 274 and 276.
