Consistency is necessary, whichever you choose. If no date is given, APA recommends using the abbreviation n.d. 7 Secondary Sources If you use a source that was cited (quoted) in another source (secondary source), name the original source in your signal phrase (see examples below). List the secondary source in your bibliography and include it in your in-text citation, preceded by the words "as cited in".
