2 OVERVIEW Each pipeline operator is required to develop, implement, and evaluate a written continuing public education program that follows the guidance provided in the American Petroleum Institute s (API) Recommended Practice (RP) This course will review the requirements with a focus on program enhancements, development of communication for special audiences, establishing meaningful metrics, and inspection and enforcement guidance. Professionals from Crimson Pipeline will describe the development and implementation of their School Outreach Program. Attendees will be given the opportunity to ask questions and learn from professionals with boots on the ground experience implementing outreach programs. Attendees will leave with practical, immediately applicable information on how to implement a successful public education program, best practices for program implementation and regulatory compliance, and guidelines for evaluating a program s effectiveness. 4 INSTRUCTORS Charlene Wright / Partner / Shook, Hardy, & Bacon, LLP Ms. Wright is co-chair of the firm s Energy Practice and a member of the Environmental Law Practice, where she focuses on regulatory matters and litigation arising from the construction and operation of natural gas, crude oil, refined products and gas liquids pipelines and the transportation and storage of hazardous materials in North America. She advises clients on complex federal and state laws, agency regulations and industry standards including the Pipeline Safety Act, Federal Hazardous Materials Transportation law, Occupational Safety and Health Act, (OSHA) Toxic Substances Control Act, (TSCA), the PCB Mega Rule, LP Gas Code and NFPA Standards. She represents clients in compliance, enforcement and permitting matters include those under the authority of the U.S. Pipeline and Hazardous Materials Safety Administration (PHMSA), Federal Energy Regulatory Commission (FERC), Bureau of Ocean Energy Management Regulation & Enforcement (BOEMRE), U.S. Environmental Protection Agency (EPA), Federal Motor Carrier Safety Administration (FMSCA), United States Coast Guard, (USCG), State and Local LP Gas Agencies, the Texas Railroad Commission, and Transport Canada. Her experience includes drafting comments to proposed rules impacting the industry and analysis of legislative initiatives. Ms. Wright defends energy clients in litigation resulting from rupture, leak, fire and explosion in state and federal courts. She has handled litigation in California, Colorado, Illinois, Kansas, Michigan, Minnesota, Missouri, New Mexico, New Jersey, New York, North Carolina, Ohio, Oklahoma, Oregon, Utah, and Wisconsin. David Blakeslee / Regulatory Compliance Team Lead / Crimson Pipeline David has four areas of responsibility for Crimson Pipeline; Regulatory Compliance - To ensure the company complies with applicable local state and federal regulations Integrity Management - To identify and mitigate risks related to pipeline assets Safety - Responsible for assisting operations with the creation of plans to ensure the health and safety of employees and contractors as well as local, state and federal compliance Public Awareness Oversee the public awareness program including school outreach, public education and community partnerships He has 29 years of experience in the transportation industry. The years of experience has been divided between Operations and Compliance giving him first-hand experience as Terminal Manager, West Coast Director of Operations, and Regulatory Compliance Lead which has provided a unique skill set. Courteney Nojiri / Regulatory Coordinator / Crimson Pipeline Courteney Nojiri is a part of the Crimson Pipeline Public Awareness Team and has also joined the Regulatory Compliance Team this year. She has earned her BA in Social Sciences at the University California Irvine. She has worked in the public retail industry for over 25 years. For 20 years she has owned and managed her own business, responsible for all facets of the business including buying, marketing, sales, customer service, and regulatory compliance. Through Courteney s understanding of pipeline safety, years of familiarity with schools as a long-time member of the Parent Teacher Association (PTA) and the Parent Teacher Student Organization (PTSO), and her passion for family, students, and community, she has successfully helped design, develop, and implement Crimson s School Outreach Program as it stands today. Courteney s current projects include the school outreach presentations for Middle Schools as well as Crimson s exciting first-ever school outreach page that is scheduled to launch in the near future. 4

A thorough damage prevention program is critical for the long-term success of the company. This workshop will educate attendees on the elements of a strong damage prevention program. By the time attendees leave the workshop, they will be able to explain the state requirements and exemptions of a damage prevention programs and describe trends in damage prevention programs. REQUIREMENTS FOR SUCCESSFUL COMPLETION OF PROGRAM Participants must sign in/out each day and be in attendance for the entirety of the conference to be eligible for continuing education credit.
