Deputy Principal: Mrs Renee Heyburgh Party Day Dear Families, What an amazing week we had last week. The commitment and enthusiasm demonstrated by our Schools Spectacular students was simply amazing. They spent many hours rehearsing, culminating with performances of Friday and Saturday. To get to perform at Qudos Bank Arena with over 5000 students was a once in a lifetime experience. I was lucky enough to see our students and attend the show on Friday evening, it was simply stunning. A special mention must go to out 4 amazing staff members that made it possible. A huge thank you must go to Mrs Heyburgh, Miss Pollock, Miss Palmer and Miss Drieman who gave up hours and hours of their own time to ensure our students had this amazing opportunity. Please look out for the Schools Spectacular review later in this newsletter. Each stage will be having a party day and celebrating their own unique way on the Thursday 15 December. Early Stage One We would appreciate if all Kindergarten students could bring a plate of party food on the day. There will also be party games, movie and Christmas craft. Stage One Party day will be a combination of Jumping castle, party food and rotational Christmas craft. We would appreciate if all students could bring a plate of party food on the day There will be no payment required but a note will be sent home to parent s shorty Stage Two Party day for Year 3 and 4 will be a combination of a disco, sport and a movie. Stage Three Party Day will be packed with fun activities. The morning will start with students participating in The Amazing Race around the school and a disco. Afterwards, students will enjoy party food with their class and play board games. They will finish the day with watching a movie with their class. 2 Kindergarten 2017 We are starting to finalise our numbers for our Kindergarten enrolments for It is important that parents intending to enrol their child in 2017 complete the necessary paperwork so all appropriate communication regarding support or transition programs can occur prior to enrolment. Early notification of enrolments also assists the school in planning staffing and resource needs. Parents who wish to make enquiries regarding enrolment should contact the school office on Children born between 1st August 2011 and 31st July 2012 are eligible to enrol. Please bring with you - child s birth certificate for proof of age, passports and visas for families born overseas and proof of residence (current council rate notice or lease agreement and 2 (two) utility bills e.g. gas or electricity account, plus mobile or landline telephone account). You will also need to bring your child s up to date immunisation certificate. Year 6 Farewell We are getting closer to the end of year celebrations and an important event for Year 6 is in a couple of weeks. The Year 6 Farewell is on Wednesday 14 th December at Campbelltown Catholic Club. Our farewell is in the Phillip Room starting at 6:00pm for students with parents to arrive at 8:00pm for formalities. The evening will conclude at 8:30pm. The Catholic Club have a few new rules about where parents are to park if they are walking their child in and also a designated drop off area. A map is included in this newsletter, please take a look so that you are aware of where to park. There will also be signs and security around the car park, should you need further assistance. Looking forward to a great night. Year 6 Teachers YEAR 6 FAREWELL DROP OFF ZONE If you have any further enquires please contact Rani Chatterjee: Traffic will not be permitted to enter Porte Cochere. Cars that wish to PARK and WALK their Child into the club will be directed to turn RIGHT The Big Day In On the 2nd of November 2016, 5 students from each stage 3 class got selected to attend The Big Day In excursion at Hilltop Road Public School. This excursion was to learn about technology and how it works. First we got to play Minecraft where we had a variety of options to build whatever we wanted. E.g. school, song, game, etc. After that we had recess and made solar lights with Solar Buddies. Solar Buddies are lights charged by the sun that we will be sending to people in India and Africa so they can have light in the dark. Next we raced our cardboard cars with other schools, but we only won a few times. Then we had lunch and created our own game on mini laptops. After all of the excitement for the day, we got on the bus and sang all the way back to school where we received show bags from the event. This fantastic technology excursion was fun. Thank you to Mrs Gibbs, Miss Chatterjee and Mr Turnbull for taking us to the great Big Day In. By Carl Parker and Kelli Falealii Cars that wish to DROP Children off and LEAVE premises will be directed to turn LEFT DROP OFF ZONE The Campbelltown Catholic Club will no longer allow for cars to drop Children off at the club s entry. Under direction from Management, in 2015 we had several near misses with Parents and Children stepping out in front of high performance cars, motorbikes and even trucks. Due to our concern for our guests, their family members and friends safety, please ensure that you have communicated to parents that these cars will not be permitted to drop off children on site We have used this system previously for family friendly events here at the Campbelltown catholic Club and believe this will work well. The car park will have directional signage (samples attached) to direct traffic to the appropriate areas. High School Orientation All high school orientation programs will be on Tuesday 6 th December 2016 (please refer to high school information documents they have sent you for starting times). Parents are responsible for transporting students to the high school. Parents are also responsible for picking up their children from the high school. For more information about high school orientation programs, please contact your nominated high school.
