1 Sample Document Database Fields Search Tips Login/Registration TED - Tenders Electronic Daily (German) TED (Tenders Electronic Daily) is the online version of the "Supplement to the Official Journal of the European Union", dedicated to European public procurement. The database is updated five times a week, each time with approximately 1500 public procurement notices from the European Union, the European Economic Area and beyond. The awarding authorities for tenders are central government, local or regional authorities, bodies governed by public law, or associations consisting of one or more of these authorities or bodies governed by public law. Scope Each year supply and public works contracts worth about EUR 300 billion are published by public authorities in the EU. Each day the Supplement to the Official Journal publishes tenders containing invitations to tender in the following sectors: Public contracts for works, supply and services from all EU Member States; Utilities contracts (water, energy, transport and telecommunications sectors); Public contracts from EU institutions; External aid and European Development Fund contracts (ACP countries); Phare, Tacis and other contracts from Central and Eastern Europe; European Investment Bank (EIB), European Central Bank (ECB) and European Bank for Reconstruction and Development (EBRD) financed projects; Contracts from the European Economic Area (Norway, Iceland and Liechtenstein); Contracts pursuant to the Agreement on Government Procurement (GPA), concluded within the framework of the GATT/World Trade Organisation (WTO), from Switzerland; Notices concerning European Economic Interest Groups (EEIG); Public contracts for air services. All public tenders above specific contract values must be published in the Supplement to the Official Journal of the European Union (S series, Official Journal S or OJ S) and published throughout the EU. The contract value thresholds above which an invitation to tender must be published throughout the EU are laid down in EU directives. 8 Search Tips TOP For this database we recommend using the Expert Search. There you will find numerous lists (see links below the search fields), which make the search easier. Within the more voluminous lists, e.g. CPV Codes, you may search the keywords with the browser search function (e.g. Ctrl F). Several items selected from one of these lists are combined with the operator OR, which means, the results have to contain at least one of the items. Search in specific fields The "General Search" includes the following fields: Title, Abstract, Text of Tender, CPV Codes (German texts only, no codes), Country, Region, Awarder/Contractor and Publication Date. In all other cases the respective field has to be selected before searching. In the "Expert Search" every field can be selected from the dropdown-list, or you can directly enter the field tag (in capital letters), followed by colon and the search term, e.g. the classification CC: or the region RG:ukc22. The direct search with field tag is possible in all search types (Quick Search, Advanced Search and Expert Search). CPV Codes (Subject of Contract) The subjects of the contracts are searchable with the classification CPV (Common Procurement Vocabulary). The CPV establishes a single classification system for public procurement aimed at standardising the references used by contracting authorities and entities to describe the subject of procurement contracts. For the search with CPV codes there are several possibilities: 1. Find the applicable codes by searching with keywords in the list: CPV-Codes (2008). Then search the code in the database, e.g. CC: List CPV-Codes This list (link below the search fields) contains the top level of the classification and allows a rough preselection. Several items from this list are combined with the operator OR. 3. Refining of Results On displaying the results list after searching, you may refine your result by the criteria on the right side, the CPV codes among others. Several selected criteria are combined with the operator AND, that means all criteria have to apply. 4. After displaying a document, you may click on the linked CPV codes in the document, which results in a search in field CC (CPV codes). NUTS-Codes (Place of Delivery) The top two levels of the NUTS-Code are given in the list "Region" below the search field. The more precise sublevels are searchable in the field "Region", e.g. as RG:ukc22. Find a complete list of NUTS-Codes [in German] here. If the function "Suggest Search Terms" is active, the codes for which there are hits in the database are shown on entering the first two characters. The NUTS-Code is not given in every document. 8

9 Search of Dates All dates (Publication Date, Deadline for Request, Deadline for Tenders etc.) are comfortably searchable with the calendar function as numerical fields (from... to...). You may fill in several fields. Please note, that not all documents contain all of the dates. It is possible to enter either only From-Date or only To-Date.
