1 Welcome to Italy Dear Fellow, The EFORT Travelling Fellowships are organised by the National Orthopaedic Societies, members of the European Federation of National Associations of Orthopaedics and Traumatology. The EFORT Travelling Fellowship in autumn 2009 will be held in Italy. It is open to surgeons from European countries selected by their national association, in order to favour exchanges between the travelling fellows and the orthopaedists of the inviting nation. The scientific programme of this fellowship course will be organised in two cities in Italy: Bologna (4 8 October) Verona (8-11 October ) We wish you a pleasant and interesting course in Italy! 2 Useful information Arrival to Bologna Guglielmo Marconi Airport on Sunday, 4 October 2009 You may take any international or domestic flight to Bologna, Guglielmo Marconi airport, which is located six km outside of the city. From Guglielmo Marconi airport, there are public transportation possibilities to the city. The easiest way is to take the shuttle aerobus service (BLQ) from the airport and in approximately 25 minutes you will reach the train station of Bologna. One way tickets from/to the airport are EUR 5.00 (tickets can be purchased on board, too). From the central station the bus 33 will take you to the stop Porta San Mamolo in 15 minutes; once off the bus, cross Via D Azeglio and you will reach Mura di Porta Castiglione, turn left and shortly to the right in Vicolo del Falcone where the hotel is situated. The ticket from the central station to the hotel is EUR You can also take a taxi from the airport directly to the hotel, which costs approximately EUR Please note that there will be no organised transportation as the arrival times of each participant will be different. Accommodation and meals Accommodation will be arranged in single rooms. The hotels in each city will offer breakfast in the morning. Lunches and coffees will be organised at each hospital during the day time. The Italian Orthopaedics and Traumatology Society and the organising committee are offering you accommodation and meals in the country from. The transportation within the country from Bologna to Verona is also organised and paid by SIOT and the organising committee. Departure from Verona Airport on Sunday, 11 October 2009 The departure on Sunday, 11 October 2009 will be from Verona Airport.
