Today Cable Services majors in the products of only ten suppliers. All products are closely related and centre around cable and its immediate accessories. For example, Glanding, Terminating, Jointing and Cable Support, above and below ground, at voltages up to 7kV. Recent Developments / Catalogue Additions Over the last ten years the Cable Services Group has increasingly been involved with contractors supporting the Electricity Supply Utilities (DNO s), and also the multi utility contractors providing connections in the rapidly expanding private networks sector. As such the stock carried by the Group has changed to reflect these developments, with large stocks of utility specific joints, house service cut outs, multiway service boards, and heavy duty cut outs. The SERVICE CONNECTION section has been added to the catalogue to demonstrate our commitment to this important area of activity. The unique funnel shape of PVC sleeve, guarantees total insertion of the conductor strands into the terminal barrel, creating a secure and reliable electrical and mechanical connection. 19 CMP Flameproof gland adaptors and reducers Electrical thread conversions Thread Conversion Adaptors & Reducers CABLE GLANDS Adaptors Provide a means of connection between dissimilar thread forms and sizes. Reducers Effectively reduce the threaded entry diameter of an enclosure to accept a gland or fitting with a smaller thread. Stopping Plugs Designed to close any unused entries in electrical equipment without revoking existing certification. Many common combinations of thread adaptors and reducers are held in stock and the manufacture of less common combinations or sizes can be arranged with short lead times. In addition to the items listed here, the Cable Services Group has extensive stocks of loose glands including flameproof, nickel plated, aluminum and integrated earth.
