17 "If we get 5G right there won't be a 6G, Andy Sutton, EE Verizon to test 5G at 28 GHz in Texas with Samsung Vodafone Group is partnering with Huawei, Nokia, Ericsson, Intel and Qualcomm to research 5G and prepare its networks for a transition towards the new mobile standard. China Mobile and Ericsson signed MoU to collaborate on 5G research and development Deutsche Telekom teams with SK Telecom on 5G, IoT and Media Platform SK Telecom and Nokia Networks open 5G R&D centre in South Korea, aim to demonstrate 5G technology in 2018 T-Mobile US said it will conduct 5G network technology field trials in the second half of this year with both Ericsson and Nokia. AT&T seeks experimental license for 5G tests in Austin SK Telecom, KT, NTT Docomo and Verizon formed the Open Trial Specification Alliance to develop specifications for early trials of the 5G Radio Interface between 2016 and 2018, promoting a more inclusive, open, and collaborative approach to developing 5G trial networks TeliaSonera and Ericsson plan launch of 5G services in Stockholm, Tallinn in 2018 NTT Docomo aiming at 5G launch by Tokyo 2020 Olympic and Paralympic Games Verizon's 5G tests hit 10-Gig speeds, commercial deployment in 2017 possible SK Telecom announced that it will launch a trial 5G service in South Korea in 2017 KT targets 5G roll-out for 2018 Winter Olympics in Korea 17
