2 GREETINGS FROM SUMMER CAMP 2017! The Madison Area YMCA has a rich history of providing the best possible summer camp experience for children. Summer is the time of year for going on adventures, making new friends and creating memories that last a lifetime. At the Madison Area YMCA Summer Day Camps, we believe in the magic of summer and the depth of opportunities it offers. We provide a safe, energizing and fun environment where children and teens can be themselves and enjoy the journey of summer. Parents can expect their campers to grow, learn and be engaged all summer long. Campers will build character and independence through a variety of age-appropriate activities led by thoughtful, caring staff. Each day at camp is filled with new experiences and old traditions. Whether campers are exploring the Liberty Science Center, hiking Mount Tammany or volunteering at America s Grow-A-Row, one thing is certain: Madison Area YMCA Summer Day Camps provide a memorable experience for all families. 4 THINGS TO KNOW Two Locations Camp Wantago is held at the F.M. Kirby Children s Center at 54 East Street in Madison. KidsQuest, SummerQuest and Leader in Training camps are held at the Madison Area YMCA s Family Center at 111 Kings Road in Madison. Camp SummerQuest, a teen travel camp, is off-site daily. The Best Staff Ever The safety and care of your child is at the forefront of our minds as we carefully select our camp staff. Many of our camp counselors have grown up at the Y, so they know the program, traditions and values that our camps offer. At the Madison Area YMCA, our camp staff attends 40 hours of training and must successfully complete a rigorous background check and interview process. Training includes CPR, First Aid, AED, bullying prevention, child abuse prevention and bus safety. To supplement our highly-trained aquatics staff, many camp counselors are also American Red Cross certified lifeguards. Our counselors are dedicated to making this summer the best ever! Field Trips Each camp at the Madison Area YMCA will go on a variety of field trips throughout the course of the summer. Examples include Liberty Science Center, Funplex and the Turtleback Zoo. For camp weeks that include a field trip, the registration fee cannot be prorated if a camper chooses not to participate in the field trip. Registration Process Complete the registration forms located on the Madison Area YMCA s website and available at either Center. Return in person to either the F.M. Kirby Children s Center or the Family Center of the Madison Area YMCA. A non-refundable $50 down payment per child per camp week is due at time of registration. The Madison Area YMCA is a 501(c)(3) charitable organization.
