WASTE TO ENERGY! NA ANOVO
WHAT IS IT? Waste-to-energy (WtE) or energy-from-waste (EfW) is the process of creating energy in the form of electricity or heat from the incineration of waste. NA ANOVO
HOW DOES IT CONTRIBUTE TO SUSTAINABLE TOURISM? Some of the major codes of sustainable tourism are: TO CONSERVE ENERGY AND REDUCE WASTE AND POLLUTANTS FOSTER ENVIRONMENTALLY RESPONSIBLE PRACTICES FOR REDUCING POLLUTANTS AND GREENHOUSE GASES MANAGE EFFICIENTLY WASTE AND ENERGY NA ANOVO
THE WTE PROCESS THE PROCESS BEGINS WITH TAKING THE WASTE RIGHT OFF THE TRUCK OR CRUISE SHIPS. AT NAANOVO, OUR PLANTS USE 180 TONS OF UNSORTED MUNICIPAL WASTE PER DAY. THIS IS TAKEN TO OUR MODULAR STATE OF THE ART PLANT WHERE THE WASTE IS COMBUSTED TO PRODUCE 7 MEGA WATTS OF POWER A DAY, 36,000 LITERS OF POTABLE WATER AN HOUR AND ENOUGH TOP AND BOTTOM ASH TO PRODUCE 7,000 CINDER BUILDING BLOCKS PER DAY. NA ANOVO
THE WTE PROCESS THE PLANT UTILIZES THE USE OF THE STREAM TWICE, IT FIRST GOES THROUGH A HIGH PRESSURE TURBINE THAT PRODUCES 3.75 MEGA WATTS, THE STEAM IS THEN REUSED AND GOES THROUGH OUR ADD POWER PROCESS THAT PRODUCES 3.25 MEGA WATTS, GIVING A TOTAL OF 7 MEGA WATTS OF POWER. OUR ADD POWER PROCESS UTILIZES THE FLUE GASES CONTAINING WASTE HEAT AT VERY HIGH TEMPERATURES, THE WASTE HEAT CAN BE RECOVERED FROM THE FLUE GASES AND CONVERTED INTO ELECTRICITY USING A LOW TEMPERATURE TURBINE AND GENERATOR UNIT. NA ANOVO
IN OTHER WORDS WE PROTECT THE ENVIRONMENT WHILE WE TURN HOUSEHOLD WASTE INTO ENERGY FOR THE PEOPLE OF THE CARIBBEAN NA ANOVO
WE ARE FOCUSED ON GREEN Naanovo is a global clean energy company with its roots in North America. Its purpose is to develop clean energy projects in regions of the world where the demand for energy far exceeds supply and where alternative energy, or clean energy, is the preferred solution for producing electricity. development.
WE ARE FOCUSED ON GREEN We are 99% green and qualified for carbon credits under the UN acceptance. Since 2001, Naanovo and its member companies have been circling the globe looking for project opportunities. In so doing, Naanovo hopes to become a world leader in clean energy, beginning with WTE, CSP and PV Solar with several projects are now under development.
Our operations Naanovo Energy Inc. (Canada 2001) Naanovo Energy USA, Inc. (2004) Naanovo Energy Gambia Limited (2008) Naanovo Energy UK Limited (2008) Naanovo Energy Brazil S.A. (2009) Naanovo Energy Nigeria Ltd (2009) Naanovo Energy Nical Ltd (2011) Naanovo Energy Uganda Ltd. (2009) Solar Maax Ltd. (UK 2009) Naanovo Energy South Africa (Pty) Ltd. (2010) Naanovo MENA Energy LLC (UAE 2010) Guatemala Solar Group (2008)
THE Modular WTE Maax Plants WQE USE ARE: Energy Efficient Environmentally Friendly Built to Last Built to Maximize Power Output
Modular WTE Maax Plants Environmental efficiency Waste Volume Reduction: 90-95% Waste Weight Reduction: 80-90% Combustion of Combustibles: 100% Air Emissions: Near 0% Water Contamination: 0% Ash Toxicity: Bottom Ash is Benign, Fly Ash is Treated to be Benign
Modular WTE Maax Plants General benefits Employment: people shift Power Production: 59,640,000 kwh/yr Waste Disposal: 64,000 metric tons/yr Cinderblock Production: 2,485,000/yr Potable Water Production: 323,760 m 3 /yr
Naanovo in the Caribbean Naanovo Energy will be Building a Waste to Energy (WTE) Plant in St Kitts and Nevis on the Land fill site at Basseterre, St Kitts. We are also looking to do the same within the Caribbean with projects currently in progress in Jamaica and St. Lucia.
OUR INVESTMENT We would work directly with the Governments, where we would like a power purchase agreement (PPA) for an agreed period to supply power to the Government Agency. The PPA would be linked to a boot agreement (build, own, operate and transfer) After 25 years, the plant will be given to the governments. The only investment from the government would be to give Naanovo Energy duty free imports Tax free for our joint venture partners A free 25 year lease for the land
