2 Why Compressed Natural Gas (CNG)? CNG is a reliable and continuous method of supplying natural gas to customers not on the natural gas networks of Sasol Gas, Egoli Gas and Spring Light Gas to meet immediate and future energy requirements. Saving in administrative costs as storage and ordering costs of fuel are virtually eliminated and EIA s not necessary. There are also no seasonal availability issues. Reduced maintenance and environmental costs because natural gas is virtually sulphur free, which means corrosion from sulphur dioxide is nonexistent, and results in dramatically lower CO 2 and greenhouse gas emissions compared to most liquid and solid fuels. Combustion is more efficient because natural gas is supplied at a constant quality in gaseous form and need not be atomised/processed to obtain a combustible mixture. It is easily mixed with the correct volume of are required for complete combustion, which means that all the energy in the gas is utilized in the heating process, while exhaust heat losses, normally caused by excess air, are kept to a minimum.

3 Why Compressed Natural Gas (CNG)? Price predictability and stability as natural gas is escalated quarterly in line with a predictable mechanism taking into account alternative fuel pricing. This means that the magnitude of percentage savings calculated at project inception remains the same over the life time of the project.

4 Benefits of using CNG for Industry Natural gas is the cleanest fossil fuel available, resulting in cleaner emissions and a better quality flame at the burner In terms of greenhouse gases pipeline natural gas reduces emissions by almost 50% when compared with coal. Natural gas from renewable sources can reduce CO2 emissions by 85% With regards to more local and toxic emissions, natural gas virtually eliminates totally emissions of SO2 and particulate matter and reduces emissions of NOx by 80% Natural gas is a cleaner fuel to store (onboard delivery trailer)s) and is delivered on an as required basis resulting in less storage space being required and less mess being created Supply of natural gas not subject to seasonal supply difficulties When gas is burnt no physical residues (ash) remains Being a high quality fuel, gas burners are easier to control and maintain - leading to lower downtime required for maintenance and repairs CNG should be competitively priced when compared to LPG and diesel

5 The CNG Solution NOVO Energy/The Combustion Group joint venture to provide clean energy solutions. Delivery of end-to-end solutions to commercial and industrial customers with an integration of the offering from both parties. Novo Energy supplies natural gas with the required infrastructure to compress, transport and deliver to site. The Combustion Group supplies the turnkey solution including design, equipment supply, installation and commissioning for new equipment or to convert current combustion systems from various fuels to gas, as well as project management and maintenance services. The gas price offered is inclusive of all equipment capital required for CNG supply and combustion, installation and maintenance costs as well as gas energy supplied.

6 The CNG Solution Our products/equipment have Original Equipment Manufacturer (OEM) approval for use and fitment, and conform to Production Quality Consistency requirements (e.g. SABS). Our suppliers are required to be ISO 9000 and / or ISO certified. This Total Quality Management certification includes provision of maintenance and support for the equipment supplied for on-vehicle fitment or on-site installations. This will align with existing equipment maintenance regimes. All products supplied have hazardous substance ratings and safety requirements for handling, transportation and storage which will be managed by NOVO. Indemnity policies mitigate the risk related to the potential impact on the customer s assets when using a NOVO intervention.

7 The CNG Virtual Pipeline Natural Gas compressed to 250bar at the Mother Station site from pipeline gas (Sasol Gas or Spring Light Gas) where specialised modular trailers are refuelled. Transported to market via road transport on trailers. Trailer parked at customer premises and connected to a PRU (Pressure Reduction Station). Customer is able to choose the outlet pressure from the PRS depending on demand and pressure requirements. The figure below provides an overview of the gas chain:

8 What is Required for CNG Supply? Signature of a 5 year Gas Supply Agreement with NOVO Energy (Pty) Ltd detailing a fully inclusive solution for the customer at a competitive gas price compared to alternative fuels. Adequate space for the installation of the PRU and parking of the modular trailer, with turning circles, for CNG supply, which is approximately: 3mx10-22m for trailer parking, 2.4mx4.5m for the PRU and 1.1mx2.2m for storage.
