11 Unit 3 Investigation 3 follows Investigation 1 so that all of the multiplication instruction is together. It gives students a greater foundation of multiplication before moving on to division. Division is also taught together (Investigations 2 and 4). 4.1.B Identify factors and multiples of a number. There is no standard algorithm for multiplication instruction, practice or assessment. This standard will not be fully addressed during this unit, but does need to be taught 12
