2 Background The 2016 Battery Seminar will be focused on real life application knowledge from Industrial, Automotive and Storage (ESS) markets. The Battery Seminar gathers top speakers such as Hans Eichel from Toshiba Group Europe, Kazuo Chiba from Nissan in Japan and battery specialists from Lithium Balance and Danish Technological Institute. By participating in the seminar you will gain fundamental insights into the world of Lithium technology, safety hazards, performance optimization and how to handle these through battery management systems. The seminar is organized by in association with Danish Technological Institute, TINV and Danish Battery Society. Speakers Main focus areas The Battery Seminar will be focused on three main areas, what ensures that participants with little or no knowledge of the subject will get applicable basic knowledge. Participants who are already familiar with lithium battery technology will enhance their skills in areas such as- Basic Lithium market introduction and trends Specific applications within Industrial, Automotive and Storage (ESS) markets Battery technology research projects and results Who should attend? The target audience for the seminar are engineers, battery experts and / or anyone who wants to expand his knowledge and technological know-how in order to strengthen the company's efforts in this area. 3 Speakers 00 Hans Eichel (HE) is an electrical engineer with a long industrial background in the semiconductor and battery system domain. He is with Toshiba Europe GmbH and is in charge of the Lithium-ion battery business in Europe. Hans Eichel will focus on comparison of Lithium-ion cell chemistries. The most widely used cell chemistries are explained, compared and assigned to application areas. Kazuo Chiba (KC): Kazuo has done Aviation Engineering (Electric propulsion) in 1970 from Tokyo University. He started his career as a Senior Manager (EV and advanced engineering, Electric powertrain development) in at Nissan. He has worked in Electrike Japan as a Founder and SVP Engineering. Development, certification and production/sales of 3-wheeler application from In 2016 he became a Founder and CEO of itsev, EV application and project management. Claus Friis Pedersen (CFP): Claus has completed M Sc. Electrical & Electronics Engineering in In 1993 he has done his PhD.Optical Communication. From he worked in DSC Communications, as a Group manager Optical transmission. From he joined NKT Photonics as a Senior Business Developer Photonics. In he worked in OPDI Technologies, CTO optical sensor technology. Then he joined Haldor Topsoe, Project Manager, Electrochemical projects from Since 2016 he has been a CTO at. Sumegh Kadam (SKA): Sumegh has completed his studies from Bombay Technical Engineering (BTE), Dipl. Mechanical Engineering in He worked in Mahindra & Mahindra; Prototype Engineering R&D in After M & M he joined International Cars & Motors Ltd.; Vehicle Integration R&D in From , he worked at Cummins Emissions Solutions he worked in Quality Bus & Coach , he has been working with ; Application and Support Engineer BMS. Currently working as battery engineer at Volvo. Kasper Torpe (KTO): Kasper has done his studies in BA Copenhagen Business Academy in He worked in Brüel & Kjaer Sound and Vibration, Customer and Sales Support Manager in Then he joined, COO in From , he worked as a FOSS Analytics, VP Customer & Sales Support. He has been working in, as a VP Sales & Marketing from Ugur Sancar (USA) received a B.Sc. in Electrical Engineering in 2013 from Ege University and a M.Sc. in Mechatronics Engineering focusing on power electronics and control systems from Sabancı University in During his master studies, he worked as a research assistant with development of a wind turbine simulator. Since March 2016, he has been working as application engineer in Lithium Balance.
