1 2015 THREAT WEAPON AND EFFECTS TRAINING SEMINAR April 28-30, 2015 Hurlburt Field AFB/ Eglin Air Force Base Fort Walton Beach, FL THIS SEMINAR IS CLASSIFIED SECRET FOR US CITIZENS ONLY
2 Announcement Conflicts and threat have highlighted the need for the survivability of our aircraft and force protection of our troops. This seminar will address issues related to the lethality of enemy weapon systems from small caliber munitions to anti-aircraft missiles within the broad considerations of system design and employment. Background This annual seminar is a collaborative effort between the Joint Combat Assessment Team (sponsored by the Joint Aircraft Survivability Program Office), and organizations in the intelligence and acquisition communities. The seminar draws information from threat exploitation, live fire testing, and combat experience to provide a complete picture on threat lethality. Hands-on experience is provided with threat munitions/missiles, test articles and damaged aircraft hardware. Experienced professionals provide current, relevant information on threat system upgrades, proliferation, and lethality. Who Should Attend Aviation operations personnel Intelligence professionals Weaponeering staff Individuals dealing with battle damage and repair US Government and industry executives Survivability engineers RDT&E professionals Individuals with an interest in threat weapons, intelligence and aviation survivability Program Features Current combat assessment reports from Afghanistan Presentations on current threat lethality and proliferation Discussions on current survivability design effectiveness Live fire demonstration of a wide variety of munitions o Post shot evaluation of damaged hardware Hands-on MANPADS training Clearances/Security Certification The security classification of the seminar is SECRET/NOFORN. No foreign nationals will be in attendance at the seminar. To be admitted to the seminar sessions, you are required to submit a security certification form or JPAS visit request in advance and provide a government issued photo identification on-site. 3 Time and Place The Seminar will take place on both Hurlburt Field and Eglin AFB, FL from Tuesday, April 28 through Thursday, April 30, Seminar briefings will be held in the Hurlburt Field King Auditorium on Hurlburt Field. The Okaloosa Regional Airport (VPS) is adjacent to Eglin AFB and offers several flights daily. Reduced airfares may be available to/from Pensacola or Panama City, FL which are each about an hour drive from Fort Walton Beach. Lodging The seminar host hotel is the Ramada Plaza Beach Resort, conveniently located in Fort Walton Beach. When preparing orders for the seminar, please ensure they reflect the destination as Fort Walton Beach, FL as opposed to either Hurlburt Field or Eglin AFB. Lodging will be managed through the seminar website. Photo links to Ramada Plaza website Transportation Transportation between the airport, host hotel and Hurlburt Field King Auditorium WILL NOT be provided. Attendees will be responsible for their own transportation. Carpooling is encouraged. Please note the location of visitor parking at the Hurlburt Theater on the next page. Bus transportation will be provided from Hurlburt Field to the Eglin AFB test ranges to accommodate the live fire demonstrations. Contractor attendees should expect an extended delay when driving through the entrance to Hurlburt Field. 4 Parking at Ben E. King Commando Auditorium The Hurlburt Field King Auditorium (formerly the Hurlburt Field theater) is located at the red highlight on the photo map below. Auditorium parking lot (Lot 1) fills early. If the theater lot is full, please park across Cody Ave. (Lot 2). Again, carpooling is encouraged. As a convenience, daily morning and afternoon beverages as well as associated food items will be made available by the TWES support team to those attendees that sign up for them. A voluntary one-time five dollar fee for this service will be collected during registration, but no receipt will be provided. Based on the Joint Travel Regulation, this fee must be paid out of the traveler's per diem and cannot be reimbursed as an additional expense. Note Taking You may make unclassified administrative notes, such as schedule changes and speaker information in your Final Program. No notes of any kind may be taken on any other medium. Classified notebooks will not be provided. Speaker presentations will be posted to the SIPRNet within one week of the training completion date. Message Center Messages will be posted on the TWE Message Board in the auditorium. A message center phone number will be provided at registration. NOTE: Briefcases, large purses, cell phones, pagers and other electronics are NOT allowed inside the auditorium and must be left outside the auditorium doors. Zip lock bags and a designated table will be provided for own-risk placement of devices.
5 Registration & Cancellation REGISTRATION IS LIMITED TO 200 ATTENDEES. ADDITIONAL REGISTRANTS WILL BE PLACED ON A WAIT LIST. Seating is limited at the TWE as Hurlburt Field King Auditorium will hold a maximum of 200 personnel. We can guarantee two seats per unit, with additional seats filled on a first come - first served basis. If your plans change after registration, please notify JCAT so your reserved seat can be made available to another interested party. Attire Appropriate dress for this seminar is duty uniform for military or business casual for civilians. Range activities/demonstrations currently scheduled for Tuesday and Wednesday will be conducted in field conditions. Weather conditions at the ranges can vary from sunny and dry to rain and mud. Please plan accordingly. Monday Pre-Registration Pre-registration will be from 5pm 8pm on Monday, April 27 at the Ramada Plaza Beach Resort. Registrants will receive a badge and final program at this time. Late registration will be available one hour prior to start time at the Hurlburt Field King Auditorium.
