The position is also responsible for storage virtualization, private cloud systems, datacenter management and recovery, infrastructure automation and abstract storage networking. These functions are all critical to the success of the core operating systems of the college. Financial aid directors, especially good ones, are hard to find. I understand there are three vacancies in the System at this time. I recently offered a very experienced financial aid director $85,000 per year to come to LCC and be the director of our program. I was turned down. We had to dismiss our financial aid director and the person who is perfect for the job is currently an accounting clerk. So, while I am requesting a salary increase for this individual above the 10 threshold, LCC and the NCCCS are still getting a financial deal of a lifetime with this promotion and salary. As Director, Mr. Gibbs will provide leadership and hands-on direction to the team responsible for administering all student financial aid funds including federal grants, state grants, and in-house scholarships. He also supervises other designated financial aid staff personnel, performs complex financial analysis, monitoring, reporting and control, as well as superior management skills needed to maximize organizational resources and improve the customer experience; review, update, and document policies, procedures, and practices for the financial aid application, awarding, and packaging.
